Weaver is a terrible design and needs to be changed.
Straight up just change it, right now this second don't think just do it, trust me.
So I would love to play the Ziz gauntlet with my summoner build, but the problem is, doesn't matter how tanky I can make it, summoner vs Weaver straight up one shot garanteed byebye nerd. I just ripped 2 characters in a row with op over the top leveling gear for the zone, I went and did bandits first too, I had stats something like 700 life 300 armor(68% reduction) 60% all res, a shield, the tree looks like all the life I can get, and still boom one shot bye randomly, it just has to be bugged, because of the minions and the constant adds, the Weaver straight up spam the massive one shot aoe and you just go boom. 2 char in a row with insane stats and I am literally as experienced as you can be, this is not ok. Just change the design, a mid level quest boss shouldn't be able to do that no matter how much sauce you put on. Anyways, thanks for ruining my fun and hopefully you change it so it doesn't ruin other people's fun. I will just not participate I guess, also, who's bright Idea was it to make it hardcore only, like bring the difficulty but fuck right off with the hardcore stupidity, make separate leagues, if it's too hard for me it typically is too hard for 99% of the population, why? there is no bug here.
gauntlet mods can add some insane things to certain bosses, in this case its the shotgunning webs. there is a reason things like +4 monster projectiles and some AOE, dmg, and other stuff are not normal mods for every zone. also this is sponsored content, so HC only, SSF only, etc... is because it's what they want, not some regular design. Of course there is a bug, the general strategy on weaver is to be in melee so it doesn't do the ranged attack, but because I spam SrS and there are non stop weaver minions spawn, they go around and count as ranged, then Weaver just spam it's ranged aoe one shot on my adds and cleave me in melee, either make melee range immune to the damage or, better option is to just rework the boss so that it doesn't behave in such a fashion against people with minions/totem/whatevers.
I died to straight up one shot from 100 to 0 in melee range with a decoy in front as I am behind, and just went BOOM bye twice, not just once, twice, on 2 different char, just no. This is not ok. Unstoppable and impossible to mitigate, like I had 70% armour, if he's shooting EK it should do absolutely fuckall, that's not what is happening here. seemingly random straight up one shot mechanics should not be in the game no matter what, that's just not fun for anyone. |

" one, that's not how armor works on big hits. two its not a bug. three its not EK, its the web skill which shotguns, so you are getting 5+ times for something like 90ish to 130ish 5 times + shotgun aoes, armor only mitigates roughly a third of each hit. the problem her is the shotgunning also welcome to the gauntlet, potential random 1 shots from some mechanics will be possible if you don't know how to avoid it, the way gauntlet mods are set up you may have to take on certain bosses differently than normal. |

Weaver is fine. Just scales like this under abnormal circumstances, like Gauntlet.
If you really can't get past, first become whatever has a chance against it and then change to your summoner form. Witches have gotten past weaver. The absurdity of this workaround is on Gauntlet. Part of me thinks all bosses should be as hard in gauntlet, it's a laugh-at-people-ripping contest mostly (plus admiration of some god level gaming combined with a fair portion of luck even then). Ok, I read you guys, still, how do you avoid the one shot exactly? I would love to know.
Like according to PoEDB, the spell can only hit targets that are 20 range, I wasn't ever, so why do I get hit, I'm telling you there is something fishy with the mass minion, it would be as if the obscene shotgun Merveil has was shot from any range, just boom boom cya at all time, anyone gets 2 shoted in a cold/stun lock, that doesn't make sense to me. I'm ok with the Merveil one, whenever you go range you gotta keep running, fine. But the Weaver one is literally unavoidable one shot no warning, just boom cya. To me, it would be simpler if you had a different skill that isn't so stealthy, just like Merveil and her shotgunning range aoe. It's clean, you know it's coming, the trigger works perfectly. The mere fact you guys have to say Weaver is the hardest boss, that straight up shouldn't be the case, how is some spider in a cave stronger than end of act bosses, it's hard because the ranged mechanic throughout the game in general is overtuned, which again, I am fine with, just not fine with said range mechanic not being obvious, and working extremely well, if there's any glitch at all or any bug then you get straight up one shot, that's just not a good thing. |

This is in line with its intent, I think. Extremely hard and unfair. So the strat I see used is to plop a decoy to always make it face away and to stay very close by. It's known that no amount of defenses will be good enough to withstand the attack. The best of players have died at weaver in Gauntlet, even with the totem strat. And the minions, yea, perhaps level some gems in off gear and start with a different build entirely, changing gems later when minions are better (not sure if that even happens for Gauntlet, I'm not a minion guy). As far as the comparison with the Act boss, well, there's even rares and random spawns that will be far scarier than the boss. " And it isn't the case in a normal situation. In normal story mode, beginners get past weaver just fine. In Gauntlet, it kills the best of the best. All bets of what makes sense are off. No sense.
