"Best" one handed axe?

I'm runing a cyclone / dual wield / no crit / phys dmg build.
A guy said that a pair of well rolled rare Siege Axe is the best option but i can't find (drop and/or trade) axes with the stats so high as he told me.
What i do have found was a Royal Axe with 400ish damage, so now i'm wondering what is the best option for me here.

Siege axe is considered to be the best physical one-handed axe base due to its highest (38-70) base damage on highest (1.50) base attack speed.

Royal axe bases are way slower (1.20), but coming with higher (54-100) base damage.

For fast hitting skills like cyclone, a siege axe would be better indeed, with higher base attack speed.
But if You cannot find that, then the royal axe will do just fine, just expect it to be slower.

So, it just turns out, we were lied to for years with the promises of a two-storied one PoE 4.0.
All these worse and worse beta leagues, all these braindead changes, all lead to this.

attack speed on weapons is really the most important thing, because it lets you get that much more out of all your flat damage AND makes local attack speed much better.

so, siege axe is best.

followed by vaal hatchet, runic hatchet, and then anything else.

siege axe 1.5 aps, with 25% local attack speed == 1.88 aps (+.38 total)
royal axe 1.2 aps, same 25% local attack speed == 1.5 aps (+.30 total)

I wasn't really thinking about that. Thank you.

Quick question: the DPS on ABILITIES tab changes based on this math?

If you mean the abilities tab as the skillbar, then yes, that is changing based on these main stats.

You can see the detailed information on the offence tab, like attacks per second, damage range, etc.
And it also shows most of it on the active skill itself like cyclone on the bottom right skillbar.

Just realised You are on console, the UI might be different, but mechanically shall be the same.

There are some high DPS axes on sale but they're pretty expensive. Cyclone with just some good axes won't give you much damage unless you have other equipment to boost the DPS
