Gauntlet - Hillock is boring AF

This is the first time I tried a gauntlet. The Zizaran Gaunlet has been a pretty good experience so far except for Hillock. I just don't know if I can bring myself to deal with him again. He's so boring. Some classes have little issue with him, but as a Templar, he's terribly boring in the worst way. The issue is the Templar starting skill. 5 min of running around Hillock waiting for your mana to recharge because Glacial Hammer is a trash starting skill at best in this situation. It's pretty bad when Hillock is worse to deal with than the act bosses.

Yes, it's just so annoying. Because the starting skills are so bad you must clear the entire zone hoping you will get something useful and some armor because trying to run around Hillock and hit him in the back perfectly for over 5 min without getting hit should be an achievement on its own. Bleeding him or lighting him on fire is EZ mode in comparison.

Every time on a Templar so far I have been almost empty on life and empty on mana flask by the end. It's like what would I rather deal with, scratching nails on a chalkboard or Hillock with these severely outdated starting skills?

Templars should start with Purifying Flame, that would be a much better starting skill.

yea, run up to hillock as duelist, poke him, he bleed to death. run up to him as maurader, circle around hitting him for 10 minutes with basic attack since you have no mana. at least start toons with 2 mana pots for gauntlet would be nice.

isn't he a lot easier than past gauntlets? Pretty sure in the past he was a lot nastier with 30% phys as extra fire/cold/lightning and players starting out with negative res. He has no projectile attacks either so doesn't benefit from the gmp. Something like Arakaali on the other hand..
