Flame wall - Shaper of flame / Elemental Overload

Hey there,

So i trid to experiment with flame wall elementalist, as i figured flame wall has 2 stages of damage. First one is damage of flame wall and secondary is debuff that can be be applied to enemies like via projectiles when it passes through flame wall.

Then there are 2 nodes that should probably benefit elementalist builds.

First one is acsendary node - Shaper of flames.
It says: more damage with ignites you inflict with hits for which the highiest damage Type is Fire.

Well this node doesn't work with flame wall if kinetic blast applies the debuff of the flame wall when passing through and i guess it should be right? It's acsendary node that should do something but it does nothing at this point, same as elemental overload. Flame wall can't even crit itself so how it supposed to get any benefits from this node?

Kinetic blast in this instance is a hit and applies ailments with it ( i get that this is a niche thing, but that's why im posting here), but cant use both of theese nodes which are in elementalist reach kinda zero logic. Also acsendary nodes of elementalist are so niche that i can think only a few builds only that can really use those benefits.

For time beeing elementalist acsendary nodes are great, but shaper one's are zero sense, shaper of flames gives me only thing - all damage can ignite, well guess what it's not worth 2 acsendary points at all, i can easy reach 100% via passive tree and it's a total waste.

Then shaper of winter would give me abbility to chill for 15%, and shaper of storms ability to shock, well guess what i can get skiterbots and get both of theese bonuses instead of wasting 4 acsendary points.

Suggestion: make a more strong wording on shaper of flames / shaper of winter / shaper of storms and Elemental overload to be more accurate and usable by niche skills

The Flame wall debuff doesn't count as an ignite, so it's not scaled by the 25% more damage multiplier. The hits from kinetic blast will now ignite, and gain the benefit from that, but not the fire DoT debuff that passing through the flame wall grants.

In this case maybe Chieftain would be a stronger pick since that ascendancy has fire damage over time multiplier which isn't just limited to ignites, but all fire damage over time.

Also, since the Flame wall itself can't hit, it can't proc EO, which was changed this patch, but I believe Flame wall got a damage buff to compensate for this? I hope it did at least.
Mechanic Misconception:

Are your minions "randomly dying"? Do you have the Fleshcrafter unique equipped?
If you answered "Yes" to both of these, high chance is that your minions have over 50% chaos resistance, converting 100% of their HP into ES, killing them.
Yeah your right on this, but it's just sad how hard the skill got gutted. Can't use eo, can't use ee, can't use elementalist acsendary fire node, because it give's nearly anything for this build. Also earlier golems got nerfed with all golem buffs gutted and elementalist ailment immunity gone too. Build got hit's from all directions possible.

I think flame wall got somewhat of a buff to base damage, but by very little margin, nowhere near to compensate for losses, they are just massive.

Chieftain could be decent but it has it's own problems, to be able to use valako you need endurance charge generation and a way to loose em, you really don't wanna use warcries for this, because you will be needing call to arms to make it even worth doing, and it's in opposite side of a tree where you should be pathing. If you do this your no longer ci based or ll, and if you are not ll -30% more spell dmg loss, and then chieftain is even worse then elementalist.
