Are totems allies? (PoB says they're not)

So, from the wiki and other threads I have read on the subject, totems SHOULD be allies and thus SHOULD be affected by nodes such as the Guardian's Radiant Crusade and Unwavering Crusade. But when I pop the build into PoB, the damage is unchanged from using those nodes.

So can anyone help me out here? Is PoB wrong? Or is everyone else?

totems use your offensive stats. they only have their own defensive stats. so if you want your totem to deal more damage, you have to buff yourself or debuff enemies.

totems still should count as allies for the purpose of Radiant Crusade, but they wont gain anything from Unwavering Crusade
