Frequent Crash to Desktop, No Error

Since the start of Scourge League I've had frequent full client crashes of Path of Exile. Other games run flawlessly with zero trouble, and even Path of Exile itself runs smoothly with no graphical errors or stuttering - however, the entire game client will simply close out with no pop-up as to what caused the crash, and it will happen seemingly at random. It could be zone transitions, mid-combat, opening a map, or sometimes just standing in hideout.

I have gone through all of the recommended steps in the general troubleshooting guide, reinstalling the game, updating my drivers, running Windows Update, the works, but none of it seems to have much of an impact.

The only clues I have are that as soon as the game begins to crash there is a brief audio stutter, followed my my GPU usage skyrocketing to 100% very briefly.

In addition, Windows Event Viewer shows a record of the crash as follows:

I've run disk repairs and other programs to see if the .dll file referred to in Event Viewer was corrupted or otherwise damaged, but no errors were found and nothing changed.

After doing some further digging and seeing other .dll files crop up in Event Viewer, it seems my current HDD is failing in some way, might have some physically corrupted sectors or something. I've ordered an SSD to replace it, but if it does happen to be the problem there are other ways to fix it iirc, like partitioning the corrupted parts of the drive.

Will post later when the new drive arrives to see if that fixes the issue.
