Azure shrieker in Delve protection for 2H melee
|
The azure shrieker bats in delve are quite destroying my 2H melee (EQ) character. What can 2H melee armour based character do against them?

I'm also having some trouble with them. My only suggestion is more health. I could only find information on them on the poedb site:
https://poedb.tw/us/Azure_Shrieker#AzureShriekerDelveMineBat It looks like their damage type is lightning, but I think it's so devastating because of how many get to screech before you get up to them. |

Yeah, the main devastation for 2H melee comes from the fact that they are many and casting a lighting dmg spell.
You don't have shield, so no spell block -> you take all dmg. Atm I think only 2 strategies against that are viable: 1) Get spell suppression at least on boots and gloves (40%) - it's super hard to roll good items thou 2) Use divine flesh with maxed out chaos res (90%) - thou also very hard to reach I'm still undecided what to do. Maybe there are more viable options. MY CHALLENGES ARE DONE ON HC, IT'S NOT SC GUYS!

Decoy Totem. Let them screech at that instead of you. Very handy overall in the mines.
I have a pretty good sense of humor. I'm not German.

This may qualify as a necro but I have been scouring the net looking for info. Maybe this will help someone else. I've noticed that flame dashing through them is equally as devastating to them. I run a totem build so the time between placing totems and the arrow exploding was enough of me to need to pot several times from that damage of theirs. But, as the crawler is moving, I hit the totems and dash through them, I am taking MUCH less damage and they are melting.
Edit: Obviously HC will want to test on seasonal/live first. Last edited by Ankylos#2320 on Jan 4, 2023, 9:49:05 AM

Take advantage of the fact that they lock in place once they start attacking (this is similar to the Eater of Worlds miscreants that gatling laser you). Basically bait them into attacking and then zigzag with your movement skill.
