Baran/Crusader mob damage should be nerfed
Hello. I specifically talking about skeleton lightning mages lightning ball projectiles. I understand damage variety is needed to keep us player on our toes but it shouldn't be in such dramatic leaps. As I play I take 1x the damage/ standard but then Baran with his mob fleet teleports in to ruin my day with what seems 300% increased damage from what I am used to in the same map before they appear. Problem wouldn't be as apparent if your character had Spell block, Spell Suppresion but thing is Baran mobs might appear at beginning stages of mapping when such defensive options are not available, especially if you do not trade or play SSF. I am simply suggesting to check and possibly reduce numbers of Baran mob damage numbers.
Cause building defensively against them from my experience doesn't seem enough to survive compared to anything similar that game throws at you. Last bumped on Oct 28, 2021, 2:36:06 AM

The threat baran-influenced mobs pose consist of several effects that synergise with each other.
- Lightning damage, low minimum and high maximum damage, this can be spiky. - Shock, due to lightning damage, can make subsequent hits real dangerous. - And if that is not enough, they have an increased chance to crit. compared to the other conquerers, baran and his mobs can chunk your HP quite good even when you are prepared, stat-wise. |

Shock is an incredibly dangerous ailment that, for reasons which I have never been able to understand, the vast majority of players don't take seriously and almost nobody bothers working immunity to into their build. Maybe this community (at large, not talking about OP or anyone else in this thread) is just too low-IQ to understand why they keep dying to lightning damage? Dunno, like I said... never made sense to me. If there were any way to test the theory, I'd bet that at least half of the "OMG ONESHOT" complaints we all see have to do with a person not realizing they were shocked.
I've literally seen people post videos more than once "proving" a given enemy type or boss did too much damage omg, and you can clearly see the person standing on shocked ground in the video. Basically, where I'm going with this is that shock mitigation and immunity are just as important for dealing with Crusader mobs as Freeze mitigation/immunity is for dealing with Redeemer mobs. Like, literally just as important and you should get some. And if you can't for whatever reason, you should at least approach the packs as if you didn't have the proper defenses to counter them because you don't. |

" I think it's less a matter of not understanding how to mitigate lightning damage and ailment issues and more a matter of budget. Slapping that mitigation onto gear you were planning on getting is going to result in some pretty steep prices, and some players would rather take the risk of dying a lot if it means getting their builds rolling within a reasonable cost bracket. Take myself for example. The minimum high end gear I need, which is middling at best, is going to cost anywhere between 60-80ex+. Trying to also afford whatever will give me shock immunity (I don't even know what that might entail) is going to make that cost jump a lot higher. PoE players: Our game has a wide diversity of builds. Also PoE players: The [league mechanic] doesn't need to be nerfed, you just need to play a [current meta] build! " Since you're throwing in the IQ, may I ask what your own IQ is and can you hook me up with some references to your works? |
