Mana reservation with blood magic?

Hello,

I'm using Tukohama Fortress for the extra totem and I want to use Herald of Ash, obviously it then reserves Life instead of Mana... However, the problem is that taking nodes that should reduce the reservation for the Herald, such as Presage and the other two before it seem to do nothing at all... Am I missing something? I know they changed the reservation to efficiency instead of straight up reduced but shouldn't it also reduce it?

They only give mana reservation efficiency

just get the keystone behind behind bloodmagic that lets you use one free aura without reservation. and you should use a 50% aura for that not a herald.

There’s a mastery node for reservation that gives a good chunk of life reservation efficiency. You can get it with fewer wasted points if you’re near the herald effect nodes above witch. You can also go petrified blood to reorganize your defenses around having a substantial portion of life reserved - though you definitely need the reservation mastery with that. If you’re a chieftain and have the totem leech node, petrified blood can give you overleech so long as you have less than 50% of life reserved.
