Spell Slinger
You mean to tell me that it's not enough that GGG modified the mana multiplier for most support gem. Now Spell Slinger also cost extra mana for each spell it triggers? I don't see the point of overly nerfing skills that is not that good in the first place.

This was a last league change (3.15). If I record well, all the spells which are triggered, except for Mjolner's ones, are costing mana since then. Even cast on damage taken, which kind of stinks.
Spellslinger is still kind of nice if you consider that you don't have to hit the attack in order to it triggers the spell. But not sure if the effort to make it viable is rewarding. Anyway, to use it properly one should look for reduce cost mana off skills, like: > "-X cost mana" from on rings. (Praxis or crafting bench) > Inspiration Gem (divergent one is even better) > cluster jewel Watcher's eye > "-X cost mana" while affected by clarity > cluster jewel: Replica conquero's Efficiency (-8 cost of mana) and you can use lifetap as well. cheers. It does extra mana other than reservation. Even default attack will cost mana if you have an active spellslinger. If you use Lifetap support it still cost mana. This shit is stupid.
