Laboratory map softlocks if you pull the middle (5th) lever while in Nightmare

As the title says, if you pull the 5th lever in Laboratory while in Nightmare it will not open the bossroom portal as the scripted waves of void dudes coming out of a vortex will get interrupted. Potentially need to pull the lever right before switching into Nightmare, don't exactly remember what I did.
