corrupting skill gems

I heard there were some changes to that and since I haven't played last league I wanted to ask:

- can I still get 21/20 gems by corrupting 20/20 gems ?
- can I still get a lvl 4 empower or enlighten by corrupting a lvl 3 ?

yes, both of those outcomes are still possible. corrupting gems hasnt changed in a while


using a vaal orb on a gem has the following outcomes
1- do nothing but corrupt the gem (25% chance)
2- turn the gem into a vaal version (25% chance. if there is no vaal version, it looks just like #1)
3- add or remove up to 10% quality, to a max of 23%q (25% chance, even odds of + or -)
4- add or remove a level (25% chance, even odds of + or -)


if all you want is +gem level, you have to hit the 1/4 for gem level roll, followed by the 1/2 for PLUS instead of minus. So your actual odds for a level 21 gem is 1/8 (12.5%)

You are probably thinking of a recent change where they made it that the only way to get level 4 empower/enlighten/enhance or 21/23 gems is from corruption or div cards. Double corruption from the temple in the case of 21/23 gems.

Before, league mechanics and other various places could drop level 4 empower/enlighten/enhance and 21/23 gems. Now they cannot.

It's also possible to double corrupt in the Temple of Atzoatl. Same odds as Vaal Orb, just occurs twice.
