Interaction Between Replica Frostbreath and Brittle

I'm currently theory crafting a build that using frost breath and secrets of suffering. However, when I tested the interaction it seems that Replica Frostbreath does not inflict brittle, even though its ability states that "chaos damage can chill." I would think that, since Secrets of Suffering converts the characters ability to inflict chill into brittle, Replica Frostbreath would be able to inflict brittle, but it does not. Am I not understanding what Secrets of Suffering does, is this intentional, or possibly broken interaction?

Secrets of suffering does not convert your ignites/chills/shocks into scorch/brittle/sap, it removes the ability to inflict the former and enables the latter. That is all.

So in this specific case, even though your chaos damage has the ability to chill, that is getting disabled by Secrets of suffering in favour of brittle. But if you do not deal any cold damage and/or can't crit, you will not be able to inflict brittle.

If Secrets of suffering converted the ailments, the wording would be something like: "Chills you inflict with hits instead inflict brittle"

Edit: The one thing that can still make you inflict brittle even with Replica Frostbreath would be the Leadership's price amulet, which grants you scorching/brittle/sapping conflux. Conflux takes ALL the damage from the hit into account when applying ailments, so even chaos damage will work.

That is unfortunate. Even after reading, "However, the magnitude of the alt ailments still requires the matching elemental damage. Otherwise zero magnitude ailment will be discarded by the game server." I still assumed that brittle was just replacing chill, so the interaction would work. I still feel it should still work, but brittle is just a different mechanic, so it doesn't. Oh well.

Edit: Yeah I was testing that amulet out, but the build I was theory crafting was a strength stacker, so it would be very difficult, if not possible, to fit that amulet in .
