Nycta´s Lantern

Hi

If i have Nycta´s Lantern widh a spell totem will the skill cast by the totem get the added fire damage and the other stat changes ?
And what gain in dps will it give ?
Will it still be good in end game ?


I wanna know b4 i get one so i don't waste my resources on something i wont use !

Yes. About it being good in endgame, it depends on what it's used for. For melee? Definitely not. EK? Probably.

I don't think it'll be too fantastic for the links in endgame because it only supports the socketed gems with level 10 supports, which are far inferior to level 20 gems.



For leveling, though, it's been quite nice so far, and the light radius is amazing. (plus it gives decent spell + elemental damage, nothing I've found so far passes it for power at level 49). Only downside is the rarity of getting green sockets on it for more bear traps (since it's a str/int weapon)

You need 4 sockets for that to happen first :)

Use jeweler's orbs until you have 4 or more sockets then you can start using fusings to link them up.

But what's the item level of it first? pick up the item using your cursor then type /itemlevel in global chat to find that out and post it here, because max socket count is dependent on item level.

ahh, goddamn it, I forgot that one handed weapons can only have a maximum of 3 sockets. Please ignore what I've previously said.

chest pieces and 2 handed weapons can have 6 sockets
boots, helms and gloves can have 4 sockets
1 handed weapons and shields can have 3 sockets

While your statement about level 10 supports being inferior to level 20 gems is completely true, this essentially allows you to have two "six linked" skills. You can get a 6L chest with all level 20 gems that is your primary skill and a second skill with 6 supports in the weapon. Yes, you can also get that if you use a 6L 2H weapon and 6L chest, but in this case you're using a 1H weapon and shield as well as the 6L chest.
