Will Isometric Games Survive The Future?
|
I wanted to take a look at the big picture and see what you all think about this question. Many notable games had to evolve graphically and characteristically to survive the future generations of game players.
To answer my own question for starters, I believe games at this point will need to move away from this to remain relevant in the long run. Regarding path of exile I do often wonder what it would be like in current engines. Last bumped on Sep 8, 2021, 4:26:02 AM

Path of Exile isn't isometric.
I do like being able to rotate the camera in other similar games, but it's a long way from being a make-or-break issue. |

If anything, PoE needs to be even more zoomed out, something it looks like they've done in some PoE 2 footage.
Anyhow, if they add camera rotation or make PoE a typical third person ARPG, I'm gone before you can say "the current generation of gamers-in-the-making are too focused on aesthetics, something that is indirectly hurting the depth of so many games". Bring me some coffee and I'll bring you a smile. Last edited by Phrazz#3529 on Sep 7, 2021, 6:14:44 PM
