Do people worry about Chaos resist these days?

I seem to recall in the past that people generally were fine running around with -60% to Chaos res in the endgame. But I'm now wondering if that has changed, because I got rekt in a T2 map by chaos damage multiple times (there were no chaos mods on the map, but there was on the ritual that I tried and died to once), the other deaths I got were from a vaal area in that map, (so level 70 vaal area) that had no chaos mods but had a particular mob that shoots purple projectiles that seem to do chaos damage (at least that's the only way I can explain them doing 5000 damage to me in 2 seconds flat). I also noticed that you apparently can't craft chaos res mods onto gear, which if chaos resist is important now is bullshit. For the record, my current chaos res is -38% (so I'm getting +22% to chaos res from something, probably one of my gear pieces). I ran like 7 T1 maps without even so much as needing to touch my life flasks to heal up enough to survive so this was quite a rude awakening in my first T2 map. (I am very new to mapping, only ran a few maps a while back on my first character to complete Act 10). I've been playing this guy SSF (though in Standard/not SSF mode) and intend to stick to SSF style for at least a while into mapping.

yes, chaos resist became a lot more important in the last few years.

incursions had chaos spitters, betrayal has heavy chaos damage masters, Hunter influenced mobs do chaos damage, and sirus.

i would not run any character with negative chaos resist anymore. My last few characters have actually all tried to get 50%+

Ok, so it has changed, good to know. So how to do I go about fixing my chaos resist situation, given that chaos res mods are apparently not craftable?? (At crafting bench at least)

You can get some craftable chaos mods from jun's missions. Unveil all the crap that drops and you'll get some chaos resist mods to craft.


Personally I still don't care much about chaos resist... -60% makes some mobs sting a bit but they're still survivable. I get chaos resist if it's easily available but don't sweat it, typically.



For low tier maps your best defense is still your best offense. Make sure you're 1-2 shotting everything that isn't yellow and you'll be fine farming those for a while. Can get max regular resists and > 4k life and you'll be golden until yellow maps.

you can certainly craft chaos resist mods, but theyre hybrid mods you need to unlock from syndicate.

also, amethyst rings got buffed this league. and there are boots with chaos resist implicit now, like 2tone.
