Split "Highlight Items and Objects" into two separate keybinds
Following the amazing patch '3.15.3' and specifically the first line in the patch notes(Underneath) one final quirk of the loot system we've currently got going really irks me, and that's how "Show items on ground"(Press 'ALT' to see items - on the ground - filtered out by the filter) and "Show item descriptions"(Press 'ALT' to see mods on your items, and their rolls) are both bound to the same keybind "Highlight Items and Objects".
" This has always been a problem as it will cause the game server to disconnect you (due to it taking you to long to load all the descriptions) if you accidentally press the 'Highlight Items and Objects' keybind(Default is "ALT" - either by pure accident, or because you wanted to check the rolls of an item) in an area with too many items on the ground, but there are two reasons I brought it up now: 1. You're seemingly looking into item-related client performance, seeing as you made the change you did in 3.15.3 2. It's a lot easier to forget you're in an area with a lot of items now that they no longer render, and therefore accidentally press the 'Highlight Items and Objects' keybind and promptly disconnect from the server. The current "solution" to this issue - which I assume everyone would agree is not ideal - is to rebind the key to something else and forget all about the "Show item descriptions" feature in-game and use a third-party tool (For example Awakened PoE Trade) as a Proxy - which coincidentally got a lot better with the introduction of CTRL+ALT+C being able to extract mod tiers and rolls I originally made a thread about this on Reddit with the same - albeit differently worded - arguments, but for various reasons it failed(Primarily due to the title I believe), but here it is anyways: https://www.reddit.com/r/pathofexile/comments/pc2i9d/ggg_all_we_need_now_is_a_separate_hotkey_for/. TL:DR; Please allow us to bind "Show Item Descriptions" and "Show Items On Ground" separately Last bumped on Aug 27, 2021, 6:29:24 AM
