instilling orbs are not good

I hope you plan on making the mods craftable instead, because as it stands, they are unusable (unless you get really lucky).

You want a specific mod on a specific flask, and the chance of getting that seems very low. The vendor recepie is not good enough, I still dont have enough of these orbs. So, you are forced to trade for them. yay. Hint: trading in this game is not fun. At all.

Take this flask as an example

I want a freeze flask, but now its semi bricked. nice.

Guess its back to flask piano

Solution: Make the orb much more common and an easier vendor recipe.
or, you know, you could be smart about it...

Have 2 flasks of freezing, work on instilling one of them while also keeping a viable second option open.

If that's your only freeze flask and you are working on it, that's like corrupting a build-enabling unique without a backup to replace it if you get screwed...just dumb gameplay.

You can beastcraft anti-freeze almost immediately when you need it during the leveling process, costs basically nothing to make an antifreeze flask. So...SAVE ONE.

A good instilling orb / enkindling orb combo is yet another reach goal, just like getting unique flasks/high rolled flasks/good prefix AND suffix was for the rest of PoE history. Making it incredibly easy to get makes the orbs and special effects meaningless.

yes i have it, still since the reason was to go away from the flask piano, the system seems counter intuitive
they did talk about this exact same issue on baeclast. Yeah there are too many mods it can roll and most of them make the flask useless (idk what weird niche scenario an enchant like 'used when you block' would be useful, but whatever).

For now, you'd wanna have a set of regular flasks with ailment immunity and keep rerolling enchants on other flasks in your stash till you get the one you want. Freeze esp. is really hard to get imo, I had to go through ~40-50 orbs before I hit that.
they already said theyre making it a bench mod i think.

and yeah, basically stock up flasks and hit them with the orbs, i feel like you get the right orb on the right base flask first and then roll the mods u need on it via alts then beast craft. if u go the other way its a pain in the bum.

i dunno when the bench mods are coming? anyone heard an eta on that?
I love all you people on the forums, we can disagree but still be friends and respect each other :)
I agree. I spammed like 20 also on to get used when frozen but it seems to never spawn and the fact you can stuff like "used when you block" on a block build or similar completely breaks the flask in some cases. Also the fact you can't reverse the process, you can't un-enchant a flask AFAIK and the other orb can make it worse too with the prevention of getting charges.

If you run out of orbs on a unique flask, you are forced to stash it until you get more.

I believe this orbs were intended as a band aid for the flask changes which were too harsh all at once but I believe these orbs are not the right way to deal with that. A more progressive nerf would have been better like the current state of the anti-freeze. But in reality having to react to a freeze instead of being immune for a couple of seconds before opening a strongbox for example is a death sentence and sometimes the game lags and you can't use it that fast after opening one and with all the clutter in the game and performance issues everywhere is worse. Also the fact you can get instakilled so easily in this game.
It turns out that gating necessary things for builds behind random "crafting" options is bad who knew.
As others have said, the trick is to use multiple flasks - BUT - there is a way you can turn the exercise in to a money-making venture AND help others get the mods/flasks they're looking for.

- Pick up all the top-end flasks you find.

- Transmute them. If they roll a desirable mod for you - keep it. If they roll a mod you can't use, but is useful to another class - sell it for 1-5c on beta league or 9-15c on standard.

- Of the ones that are useful to you, keep several. Keep the "best" on on your character and don't mess with it. Roll orbs on the others.

- If it rolls what you need - GREAT - use it. Then throw the orbs you find on your "perfect" flask until it hits the roll you want, and you're golden.

- If it rolls something you don't need, but another build might like, sell it for 19c in beta league and 49c in standard.

When you do this, you not only eventually get the flask you want, but you cover your costs + make a profit - and you are ALSO legitimately helping others get the flasks they want.
