State of game vs PoE2 - casual question.

Hello,

I loved poe until 3.12 league. I'm casual player who's not good enough to create build myself. I love to dig some 'good looking build' and try it (mostly tank build).

I don't like Standard league because it's booring and I can't talk with friends about how far in league we are, about changes, about new league mechanics, drops we got etc.

3.12 it's my last league I played. Why? Because as I'm already wrote I'm casual player.

Every new league GGG nerfed my hardly equiped character or two I had.
Every league I have to search for new playable build to get at least to maps.
Every new league I go trought forum topics, check my previously played builds and every time I saw game nerfed and nerfed.

Atm. game is unplayable for me. I don't want talk in behind of all casual players but what's the point of this? What's the point kill every fun and playable build for casual players?

So I have question to more experienced players.
Will be PoE2 more casual friendly or will be like PoE1 (in actual state) ?
Unfriendly, hard and random-oneshot-kill-simulator supresing every piece of casual fun to dust?

I hope for good future with PoE2 - more casual friendly.

Wait till after Chris' appearance in Baeclast (see the front page for details).

That will give us some further clues about the direction of the game from Chris' perspective.

I think the biggest problem is a lot of people didn't play PoE at the beginning therefor didn't know how Path of Exile was back then. A larger portion of the community started playing PoE when power creep, zoom zoom and screen wide obliteration was a thing and a vast majority of people ended up liking Path of Exile because of that play style so because of 3.15 it's obvious why there was a lot of back lash as we haven't had that many nerfs and drastic changes in a single patch before.

I do think some people are overreacting but at the same time I do understand why people are not impressed with the changes as it basically is changing the game and removing the reason why they played it.

A lot of streamers were here from the beginning so their view of things is a lot different, PoE wasn't this easy at the beginning and they want it to go back to its roots, they want the power creep to stop.

I might not of played at the very beginning but I as well want a harder challenge, road blocks and obstacles to work around. If this has to come in the way of nerfs then okay, do I think the way GGG is doing things is wrong? I do for sure but if it comes to the same results I'm hoping for then so be it.
If you're not playing on Standard, just think of each league as a new game. There's no "nerfs" that way. Just a game that is sometimes easier, and sometimes harder. The problem is, you came into the game after a string of leagues that made the game easier and easier. It's going to get harder for a while. That's cool. It challenges you. You have to think about what you can do to and how you can do it. Trying old tactics might still work, or they might not. Try something else if they don't.

But it's not cool, that's the issue. This game has always been difficult for a lot of people. The content has always escalated the difficulty. Now GGG seems to want to slow the game down out of the gate, even in the "campaign" you have to play hundreds of times.

Also, in the late game, most builds are completely unusable for vast majority of players. The game was made more difficult on many levels and has become unfun for many.

I like POE but I am SICK of running the campaign, Tired of labyrinth requirement, tired of poe door simulator, the itemization is terrible and never been fixed. Also the creativity of skills has hit a wall with few good defense options. Too many skills, 80% are not effective.

So it is not cool for a lot of people.

POE has gotten to a point where it's drawbacks are more than the fun it offers.

Anyone talking about "late game" loses all cred when they also claim that the game was getting more and more difficult. You're just spreading misinformation at that point. Have a great day.
PoE and the word casual do not mix. The game is overly complicated, heavily requiring 3rd party reference guides to do anything. If you want to SSF or have access to proper bench crafting mods, you'll need to play the myriad of old league content. Expect to do this every 3 months. Playing PoE is equivalent to a full time job, but it's still your choice. No thanks.

This!

While the grind to the hardest content may have gotten longer, the game has definitely become easier and easier over the years. That is a fact, and I refuse to believe that people can actually despute it.

That said, the amount of content added to the game over the years, may have made the game harder to get into as a whole, but the monster-killing-business has defenitely become easier and easier. And the reaction to this patch, telss me that a lot of people want that to continue.
Bring me some coffee and I'll bring you a smile.

I play a little bit on weekends and once in a while during the week.

If you're not focused solely on the end game you can have a lot of fun. I enjoy the experience, the progression of my character and the treasure hunting. I don't craft, I don't understand the crafting nor want to bother spending time learning it, and some of the older league content I mostly avoid (looking at you confusing Immortal Syndicate!)

It all depends on your reason for playing.

My biggest concern with these nerfs is the fact they're doing it right before major competition is released. Not a good time to start angering your players.

Well, when someone have after month equipment in price of 1000Ex and developers take this player as 'standard' and nerf everything in build what these kind of 'exalt buyers players' then game is doomed for casuals.

EVERY SINGLE league nerfed build's I have in the past.

So please don't talk nonsense. Game is harder and harder because nerfs shitload EVERY single league.
And this latest one where everything is grounded - this is total disaster.

Unplayable for casuals who want to go through at least story.
