Lost items and logbook portals

I was just doing one of the logbooks. I've finished it, collected all the items and when I was about to leave i got kicked out of the server to the game menu. It wasn't my internets fault... When i log in back to the game after 10 secs, half of my inventory is empty like i was pushed back few minutes in game before I picked up drops from logbook. Ok... I travel back to my hideout, there are still all portals to the logbook besides the one I used previously. When i tried to travel back to the logbook map all the portals dissapered and the logbook closed... Now I lost half of the items I got from the logbook and can't do anything about it... I'm pissed since it can aparently happen anytime. It wasn't my internets fault and even if it was, why did I loose half of the items and why did the portals disappear? I don't think it should work like that.

The way the PoE client saves progress (XP, loot picked up and so on) is via savepoints. These are ONLY made when you change instances --> like going from your hideout to a map / logbook instance. When you do this, a new savepoint is made where the logbook is already consumed (because you are now in the instance).

So if you just "DC" for some reason then when you login your portals are still in your hideout and you can continue playing.

If you "DC" because the server instance crash, then when you log back in there may or may not be any portals shown in your hideout however they will not work because the instance they are "linked to" have crashed and doesn't exist anymore.

Every time there is an instance crash, GGG's DEV team get a dump from the severs and when you login again, your client will upload it's local crash dump file also.
Ok thanks for the reply. It looks like it was an instance crash. I assume there is no chance to some kind of refund?
No, GGG does not restore lost items for any reason.
