Help: How much %Life Leech is needed?
My character have 6000life
I got 7% life leech of attack damage and 140% life recovery rate. Is that overkill or is there no cap? Thx Last bumped on Aug 7, 2021, 9:05:51 PM

It´s probably overkill but it also depends on your DPS.
Leech is a bit more complicated but recovering life through life leech is capped at 20% of total life per sec by default. Better read the wiki https://pathofexile.fandom.com/wiki/Leech Last edited by Rakiii#5559 on Aug 7, 2021, 11:08:23 AM

if your doing good damage .4% is enough(may take a few hits to cap it, but thats not an issue)
you only need more if your damage is low or you hit slow. |

Leech is an overly complicated mechanic. Right now you have 7% life leech and 6000 hp. Leech applied at a rate of 2% life per second. If you hit for 10,000 damage, you leech 700 life. That would equal 120 life per second for 5.83 seconds. You can stack up to 10% life per second leeched, and once you reach full unreserved life, you lose everything and have to start over after taking damage. Every part of this can be modified. Read The Wiki for more information.

Mathematically:
(Your dps*leech)=>(your life*(0.2+sum of any "Increased maximum total recovery per second from life leech" modifiers). So if you have 6k life, 7% leech and no increased max recovery per second, we're looking at mere 17143 DPS needed for maximum leech effect. Other leech modifiers apply in practice rarely, only in low attack speed and single target situations. |
