Average character level to map tier
I decided to create my own build this update (3.15) and on POB everything looks pretty good. I'm trying to figure out what the average character level to map tier is. I know in general where to be for gaining experience, but I'm not sure what is actually player normal. What tier maps do you all usually run at what levels?
Currently character lvl 88 running T9-T10 maps. Dying occasionally. Am I doing good? Behind the curve? etc etc Last bumped on Aug 7, 2023, 2:50:52 AM

I never remember checking my level much while driving through maps, but you seem fine to me level wise.

If you take map tier and add 67 to it, you get the zone level of the that map. In other words, tier 1 = zone level 68. Tier 10 = zone level 77, tier 16 = zone level 83, etc.
So, if your goal is to have a character level somewhere around the zone level of a map, then a level 88 char should be able to run higher tier red maps. But there are many reasons why a particular character might not be able to run those maps, or reasons why you'd rather run lower tier maps anyway. There are too many factors to make a real judgement for another player. If you're having fun, then you're doing it right. - here's my sig

I honestly stop caring about what level my character is about 85. After that, points come when they may and go for things like more life, or more energy shield... but very rarely for anything "important" to the build. Levels take care of themselves if you just play the game.
I'd say T10 by level 88 isn't rushing things. That's about where I am. I'm sure there are players who simply rush to T10 who get there at a lower level. I like to try to fill in my atlas tier by tier. It's a lot of grinding. |

" You can´t put it as simple like that. If we speedrun the campain in our group we are at Blood Acqueducts around 3h +- 15min, severely underleveled around 52-53. If you push straight through to atlas you´ll stay quite under. If you go for a heist strat you will be overleveled and start mapping at 70. If you die in maps quite a lot you will severely hinder your leveling, if you push through to red maps fast you´ll be lower than where you actually would be if you finished every single atlas completion. Like, the curve is basically determined by your strat, so lets throw that part out of the window. To be more realistic when it comes to guides, a good level to assume for people to finish maps is around 67-68. This should be an important starting point to get people ready for mapping. From there it really depends a lot on clear efficiency and not dying. In total, level 90 is what I aim before going into t14+, and level 95 is where i normally would end up with skillpoints, as this is also achievable without paying 5-ways etc. |
