Is Path of Exile Trade Macro Bannable ? ( Last post about it was in 2019 want to make sure )
Just like in the topic I am a come back from 2017 player and fascinated by the game and its progress. Yet after getting my stash full with various goodies I started to price check every item by hand and I was just tired after several hours doing it. In my opinion, ts the worst part of the game because of the amount of time consumed by it. I started to look for alternatives and stumble upon talk about poe macro .
So is it bannable ? and if not how does it work . I know I ask much but can someone from GGG confirm or put some light into this topic ? Thanks in advance stay safe Exiles Last bumped on Aug 5, 2021, 8:28:29 AM

People from GGG generally don't respond to stuff like this on the forums but might by email. Once they start, everyone would expect them to reply to their personal questions.
If you want to take my word for it, it's ok to use for price checking. It's not ok to automate aspects of trade. One server action per person action. If you program a button to send a message AND initiate trade, you've broken that rule. One thing though... quit worrying about getting the exact right price... there is none. It's too situational. If you want to sell stuff... price things a bit low. If you want to make more money per item, price them a bit higher and expect to wait for the right buyer. But what ever you do, don't turn it into a job. |

There is a lots of thread that claim using trade overlay and banned. It always a grey area, may be they caught on DDOS the trade API due to the coding of the trade overlay , may be the automation of in-game DM misflag as bot, may be rmt or may be they just lie. I would just say don't use it if you are not sure about it This is the start of forum signature: I am not a GGG employee. About the username: Did you know Kowloon Gundam is made in Neo Hong Kong?

Depends on the kind of trade macro. Most price checking macro's however are fine.
As for selling stuff, I (generally) recommend just dumping everything into tabs and setting the price for the entire tab to like 2ex, and then once it's full every ~15 minutes you lower all those tabs prices until it becomes vendor-trash. If you get an instant 2ex whisper then you should probably relist that one item for like 5 ex and slowly decrease it. |

" I wouldn't bother using POE Trade Macro since it hasn't been updated for several leagues now - this is a good replacement though https://github.com/SnosMe/awakened-poe-trade Plenty of people including myself have been using it without managing to get banned - there is however a trend of people getting banned for botting, RMT, exploiting etc. running to the forums or Reddit pretending they are innocent & claiming all they did was use something that is within rules. Alternatively if you want to mass price whole stash tabs full of stuff like essences, fragments, div cards etc. you could use https://github.com/viktorgullmark/exilence-next - it's no good for pricing gear though. Sometime they stated that macros are fine if they do not inflate actions.
1 press 5 flasks = 5 actions // not fine 1 press a whisper = fine, as it is 1 chatting action this is also why nobody is worried using a logout macro or even putting it in their stream title. Like Ziz/Quinn/nagu/mathil Were doing a NO logout macro challenge on ssfhc this league, that is because logging out is considered 1 action, as your UI interactions do not count towards it. I think the most questionable part is the price checking, as when used by a myriad of players it will put quite a lot of stress on the trade api. 1click party invite or responding to whispers is fine, as you manually do 1 click to perform that action Farming salt on the forums since 2024

" This is misleading. Some UI actions do count, as they are mirrored by the server. |

" If that is so, then sure. But rather than just pointing out my error, would you mind instead clarifying the matter I did try to explain? Farming salt on the forums since 2024
