Curse Immunity/Hexproof Issues with Soul Mantle
So I'm a totem player and really enjoy playing totems, but this patch has made playing totems an absolute punishment. In previous seasons I was able to acquire Curse Immunity on an Enduring Mana Flask so that I could run my Soul Mantle and get the support needed to push through the maps etc.
Well, now the only options are to go Viridi's Veil (currently 7 Exalts), Atziri's Reflection (13 Exalts), or Kikazaru in combination with Asylum and Sanctum of Thought Passive Nodes on the Skill Tree... The last option is unfortunately not an option for me because I would be losing Astral Projector for my Nova based Spell Totem build. Am I missing another way to get past the curses from Soul Mantle? I personally have had very little difficulty in adapting to the new nerfs this season offered, but now that I'm reaching the Yellow tier maps, my totems are stuck as a 4-link even though I have a 5-link because one of my totems has to be dedicated to Spell Totem... Any other Totem players out there experiencing this? A lot of higher level Totem players running Freezing Pulse somehow already have Viridi's or Atziri's? Is there an easy way to get them or am I missing something? Lastly, somewhat of a rant, I just want to mention that with this new season I have lost yet another strong and unique custom build. I make it a point to try out new builds every season but am punished more and more every season (and I've only been playing since Synth League). #1 Build R.I.P, In Delirium I made a fun double 6-link build, one 6-link had my Brand setup and the other had my Cyclone + CWC + Brand Recall + Empower + Fortify + Conductivity setup... I loved the build and was having a blast with it, the following season they nerfed Brand Recall to where it no longer refreshes any Brands duration.. #2 Build R.I.P, In Ritual I made a Dark Pact Totem build that I was able to very steadily push to Level 100 for the first time, I loved everything about the build and fine tuned it through and through to where it was my own version of the build and felt great, it was Unique even though other players may have had similar setups. I even custom built most my gear that season thanks to Harvest Mechanic. Unfortunately though, the build was built around my Mana Flask for the required Curse Immunity to combat my Soul Mantle... Just saying, as more and more options get taken away from the game, you will see more and more cookie cutter builds, because they are the only thing left that work the way people want them to. There's ways to get "reduced curse effect". Think there are rings with 40% reduction.
You can also just play slower and pause to let the curse expire. Pretty sure your playstyle was exactly the reason they nixed the immunity to curses on flasks. It was just too easy to negate Soul Mantle's downside. Would like to see them offer more tools to deal with it though. Last edited by Shagsbeard#3964 on Jul 29, 2021, 5:45:40 PM

" It's not on a jewel it's on the tree in the outer ring between Templar and Marauder. I'm going to assume you actually meant to put Numbing Elixir there instead of Sanctum. Numbing Elixir can be found on medium cluster jewels with - 6% increased Flask Effect Duration or medium cluster jewels with - 10% increased Life Recovery from Flasks - 10% increased Mana Recovery from Flasks Other than that your answer is perfect :D EDIT: Though I would not recommend going the Numbing Elixir route as it is just a pain to remember to keep the flasks up. LOL that is insane i've used viridi's veil basically on everything since its release and it was always dirt buckets cheap. 7 exalts for the base helmet now? that is hilaaaarious |

" It's early in the league, most people haven't even gotten close to Maven yet so the supply is almost nothing. Also everybody and their brother is playing FR totems right now (including me) so the demand is really high. It will come back to a reasonable price (though maybe not cheap at any point this league) in a few weeks. |

Its also a great way to make yourself curse immune when curses all of a sudden became a problem so its got a lot going for it right now.

" ya this league i was going to play ice crash totem hiero with debeon's dirge, soul mantle and viridi's veil. focus mana and ES scaling, use petrified blood, zealots oath and high investment on enduring cry uptime. use a cold steel jewel to transform the axe node phys dmg to cold and stuff like that. i figured it was a good way to stay tanky and decent damage for cheap. didn't fully plug it into PoB but i still figure it would be a really good outcome. clear should be good with massive aoe bonus and single target, well, would eventually happen. but since im not playing, well, its whatever. i saw someone on youtube trying out ice crash totems tho. |

Right, I feel ya @beaniac, totems have always been an enjoyable league starter for me, specifically because of how good Soul Mantle is early with the Curse Immunity Flask and with plenty of room for growth over the season... now it's just kind of slow and depressing, unless you go the build that everyone else is going.
