Doubt on Scorching ray DPS calculation with cast speed on pob, pls help!

https://pastebin.com/dBe7yJEe

The idea of the build is to go raider for cast speed and defences, but when i change the cast speed of the build, for example allocating avatar of the chase, in the scorching ray menu i can see the cast rate updating but not the actual dps.

Why?

Does this mean that i have to manually calculate it by multiplication (it will result in an absurd 3.2 million dps and ramping up since each SR duration is 1.5s before increases) or somehow i am missing something?

Because this might just be giga broken damage :O

PoB shows you Scorching Ray DPS based on how many stages you have the skill set to. Set it to 8 for it to show you max dps (it will also automatically calculate for fire exposure once you've done that).

You can figure out from the cast rate it shows you how long you'll need to channel to reach max stages in-game.

That i knew.

But isn't it that at max stages it applies a layer of damage with the dps that is shown in the pob for 1.5 seconds?

The debuffs stacks will EACH individually apply damage or ONLY the highest layer will?

It says " adding a portion of the beam's damage in stages" That does not mean "
overwriting the damage of the previous stage with a more powerful one".

Adding means adding, no?

Do i have to calculate the sum of all 8 stages of damage to find the actual dps?

How does this skill scale with duration?

It's not an ignite.
"Touching an unaffected target by the beam at any point during a cast interval will apply the first stage of the debuff. If the target remains in the beam, the spell will apply the next stage of the debuff the instant it consumes mana from the player again. As a result, It is possible to inflict multiple debuff stacks in quick succession to targets with only brief contact such as when sweeping the beam across the screen."

Apply means adding or overwriting?

Please read the damm skill gem:
"Additional Debuff stages add 60% of Damage"
"Burning Debuff can have a maximum of 8 stages"

Max stages that is basedamage+(basedamage*0.6*7) = basedamage+(basedamage*4.2)
= Basedamage*5.2

And that is the damage it deals per second as long as the enemy stays at max stages.
Cast speed only helps you in applying max stages faster, it has no effect on the DPS beyond that.
"An it harm none, do what you will"
