Poison? What the hell.

Am I just really bad or is poison an insane dps DoT?
Feels like I get 1 stack auto killed. Using my flasks to try and out heal the degen. Doesn’t seem balanced or honestly maybe I’m just not used to it. I’d be interested to hear what other people think but to me it doesn’t seem balanced appropriately at all. Last bumped on Jul 28, 2021, 1:56:56 PM

poison was buffed this league to bring it more in line with bleed / ignite. Problem is poison is chaos damage and if we are talking about your Sabateur, you appear to have -60% chaos resist so you are taking 60% more chaos damage from that poison.
But I think you have the experience to know that! You just have never paid any mind to it in the past because poison dealt so little damage. Monsters now last longer, hit you more times, build up more poison stacks, and potions are far less effective at mitigating it. I have 75% poison resist on all of my characters. I've yet to be bothered by poison - and I've done the hunter and constructor since the patch went live. Resists are important in PoE.

The Poison Changes just pushes Chaos Innoculation (= Poison/Chaos damage immune) into a broken state and gives life builds a harder time.
Id argue to make CI set 0% chaos res fixed or maybe 35% at best but Chaos damage does not bypass Energy Shield and Life equals 1 with the Exception of Divine Flesh that still bypasses it. And to tune it properly CI gets a small ES multiplier like 10% more ES. Balance between life and ES/CI restored. Last edited by zzang#1847 on Jul 28, 2021, 8:23:14 AM

" Yeah fair enough. I knew it had to with my chaos res I just didn’t expect to encounter some insane poison dps in tier 1 maps 😂. As of right now just got to maps so no Avenue to rock some chaos res gear yet.
