Minions and poison...

Yo!

I never playerd any Minion Build and so I decided this league to try them and the new Absolution skill. Just saying I have absolutly no clue how they actually work and have no comparison with pre nerf leagues.

My current problem with my minions is: They die. Not a lot but to everything poison is involved. In Map Expeditions with "Poison on hit modifier" completly delete my minions and the hunter boss also almost kills them instantly as his P2 starts with the toxic pool and the spitting snakes. If no poison is involved my minions are fine and never near death. So I assume I'm doing something wrong or was this different pre nerfs as with current patch poison got kinda reworked!?

Any hints are welcome. "Git gud" comments not so much :P

You can hit the Grave Intentions passive cluster to the right of Witch. That will bring chaos resistance up to 58 for most minions as they have 20 base chaos res (Spectres can vary, and it will cap Chaos Golem's chaos res). Minion life regen is also a very worthwhile investment.

Yeah I thought about those nodes but they are kinda far away. Any other ways to improve minion survivability? Are those Cluster Jewels with inc. Minion Damage worth the points regarding survivability?

Just had another Expedition without poison and my minions just got deleted xD ... In a T7 Map, Gem Lv. 21 ... Can't wait to see them vaporize in T16 Maps xD
You can swap out your minion damage skill gem for something else. Minion damage skill gem has the 25% less maximum life tag now.

In theory, this shouldn't be an issue, because you always resummon your absolutions but if you really struggle, that could help.

However, you should definitely remove the minion damage gem from your chaos/spectre gem setup, unless you really relay on the spectre damage. Not sure what kind of spectres you use, if you use buff spectres, you want to remove the minion damage gem and add lifetap instead.

Sounds reasonable ;) The Absolution Minion doesn't really matter - as u said I'm always resummoning those. But the spectres are annoying to get back. Anyway - thx mate ;)
Increased Critical Damage gives the same amount of damage or more than Minion Damage support gem right now and it doesn't lower your minion's life.

Also - mana multiplier is lower.

Worth a try ... probably ...

Actually I think of rerolling ... Just hit Aw.Lv.4 and I am now forced to go T14+ Maps if I wanna progress and my char doesn't feel like this build is going anywhere. I just get one shotted by everything, my minions die to almost every Exp. Encounter and I would have to invest heavily (while not knowing where / which I can't) to get to Aw.Lv.8 ...

Currently I have:

Glancing Blows - 75/75 Block
Jinxed Juju - 10% DMG redirected to my spectres
Combined HP/ES roughly 5k (9.7k eHP)
Lv.20 Steelskin on LMB
CWDT + Immortal Call

and I just die. 156 times already ... xD And I try dodging everything - stay away and run in circles. Mobs just don't die. It feels incredibly ... unfun :P

And I can't do League Mechanic as my minions die and so do I. I could add more "survivability" to the minions by respeccing minion dmg. But the dmg is also pretty low.

But Build Diversity. Let's just play Meta... sad
Without resistances your minions will die a lot, so that's something that you need to max out before trying anything else.

You should probably max out chaos resistances for minions (Grave Intentions cluster) and elemental (Commander of Darkness ascendancy + Sacrifice node gives +40 elemental resists to minions, so that's more than enough since they've got base 40% elemental resists).

Also - you can try to augment your minions with Medium Cluster Jewel with Dread March (minion life/phys reduction/movement speed/chaos resistance) and Blessed Rebirth (minions created recently cannot be damaged).

BR is especially effective with something that you can easily re-summon (like Skeletons)

When it comes to dishing out damage - the only viable option right now, imho, is running Vaal Skeletons gem with Triad Mesh Grip gloves (full conversion of damage to cold) + Hatred aura.

Can easily scale to something like 1 mln of dps/skeleton (10 milions with 10 skeletons and around 25-30 mln with vaal skeletons deployed) with a couple of ex of investment

The other viable option (dps-wise and survival-wise when it comes to minions) is to run Herald of Purity but summoning these Sentinels of Purity can be clunky.
