Enough bad, discuss GOOD flask stuff added this league

GGG didn't add much of anything notable this league but they did add some really incredibly powerful mechanics with flasks via flask enchantments.

The most powerful one IMO is "90% increased duration, gains no charges during flask effect" as showcased in the hype video for the league. I think this mod will get nerfed into the ground next league because it allows players to have fun.

This duration modifies the *BASE* duration of the flask, which opens up a lot of stuff on unique flasks that were just too short to be that useful before.

---------
Replica Rumi's Concoction flask normally lasts 0.4 seconds at 0 quality (90% reduced from 4 second base duration.) Now add the 90% increased duration enchantment and raise it to 20% quality and your Replica Rumi's lasts base 4.8 seconds and gives you 50% base attack block and 30% base spell block. You need to be a jugg or use Kaom's Roots but this can be really powerful. Take the 65% flask effect duration nodes in the southeast of the tree and that goes up to 7.9 seconds. A very nice oh crap button if you can deal with the petrify.
---------
Overflowing Chalice gets no charges during its effect anyways so all of the enchantments are free. 50% flask effect is nice for filling your other flasks up.
---------
Sorrow of the Divine and Replica Sorrow of the Divine at 20% go up to base 13 second duration with duration enchant, 21.4 seconds with 65% flask effect duration on tree.
---------
Coruscating Elixir was memed on hard by streamers when mentioned in the hype video. But with enchant it's 15.5s base duration at 20% quality, so 25.5s with +65% duration on tree. If you're using a couple of Distilled Perfections and a 28% flask you can raise it to 31.3 seconds. Enough for a full speed clear of a map with its 2+ uses.
---------

The 15.9s base duration on a 28% Coruscating Elixir would make it Soulthirst-competitive with the 19.9s base duration of a 28% Saturated Mana Flask, without the drawback of it falling off at full mana. With temp chains and enough flask duration it would be plenty usable even though you lose your other flask slots. Doesn't help with endgame bossing but maps would be fast.

I think there's something fun to be found in there now that regular flask usage is dumpstered. People just have to work it out. Hidden Shield Charge self-curse Fanaticism meta?

I have yet to dig deeply into the new system as I've not gotten to maps yet, but I'm quite looking forward to experimenting with these new trigger-type enchantments. Player reaction times are not as fast as the game's reaction times; being able to tell my flask "if [X] happens, drink yourself so I don't die" helps for folks who aren't twenty-something Zoomy Zoom Bois with the reflexes of youth. I'm also hoping there's more interesting trigger criteria available; "Activate this flask when you Focus" as one example, or perhaps even offensive triggers on cooldown. There's a lot of room for interesting things to happen with this system.

Imagine a Stibnite that activates when you're hit by a melee attack - straight-up Ninja Vanish whenever you get punched. Or a bismuth flask that triggers when you take elemental damage, provided the trigger has a cooldown. Could even go meta and say "Activate this flask when your Cast While Damage Taken Support gem triggers a spell", basically adding the flask to a CWDT defensive linkset. That would be baller, though I doubt it's in the current list of triggers.

There's room to add it now, though. And that's just cool.

Same as above, I have :

Will be working on Flasks soon enough.
I definitely want to get an "auto" Evasion flask.

putting solutions towards the symptoms, and not the actual problems.
GGGs specialty

yeah the fact that you basically instantly die without superman reflexes if you're frozen or bled or shocked or whatever else, surely the problem is player power with ailment immunity and lets just give you a new way to essentially wipe it from your character through the auto-trigger stuff, based on a new currency of course, instead of actually addressing the real problem which creates that whole scenario to begin with.

gotta love it

I see a Bottled Faith with the duration enchantment on the trade site. The only restriction I see is that it's utility flasks so you can't make crazy mana flasks.
So the most common one people are throwing around is Forbidden Taste + "use when you take a savage hit" enchant (hit that is 15% or more of your life.) You can enchant Forbidden Taste because it's not a life or mana flask. The new Elixir of the Unbroken flask could be used the same way. Shame Ward as a mechanic isn't very strong in a game where you take a million little hits.

For a Ward character you could run multiple of these new Vorana's Preparation flasks with the enchantment "use at end of flask effect" and just cycle between them. That is, unless "flask effect is removed" is similar to a life flask effect being removed at full health and it wouldn't trigger. On a Pathfinder with some reduced charges used you could generally get 3 uses each. You could also use an Iron Flask with the "50% flask effect, gains no charges during flask effect" to get a higher base ward for use with the Nightgrip and Faithguard uniques.

Vorana's Preparation Iron Flask
Restores Ward on use
(-10–10)% reduced Charges used
Debilitate nearby Enemies for 2 Seconds when Flask Effect ends
(Enemies that are Debilitated have 20% less Movement Speed and deal 10% less damage)
Flask Effect is removed when Ward Breaks
Culling Strike during Flask Effect

Edit: Someone on Reddit suggested Coruscating Elixir + "when you take a savage hit", and a Forbidden Taste with "use when you use an adjacent flask" next to it. Assuming it's an instant sequence and not bugged you'd go down to 1 life, then immediately back to full and regen a bunch of ES.
