Issue is not difficulty. Boring, unrewarding, massive grind.

I loved Ritual. Everything felt very rewarding. Ult was not fun at all I quit early thinking if next league didn't come back strong I was done until PoE 2.

I agree with slowing the game down but not the boring campaign. Who cares about the campaign when your spend hundreds of hrs in maps.

It's not about nerfing everything into the ground. PoE is a video game. Fun and rewards is the only thing that matters.

GGG devs nerfed fun and rewards.

I seen the GGG streams and how they poke fun of people that say GGG does not play their own game. They don't play their own game. They are busy on a 3 month scheduled making the next league.

I don't see why anyone at GGG would want to play PoE to begin with as its not fun or rewarding.

When I think of torture I think of fighting Sirus or Maven. Or grinding 200+ red maps and not even having 1 exalt drop when you need like 20x exalts for your next upgrade.

If I could think of a good use for PoE. I would use it as a punishment for when my kids do something very bad. I will make them start a character in PoE and kill Awk 8 Sirus. They do that punishment over.

Well OP that's what I've been saying all along. Nerfs are fine, people are complaining about the wrong stuff.

I ask here and there -- what's the goal of playing poe now? Fancy attack/spell animations? No one can really answer.

PoE should change name to PoS - path of suffering. Because that's what it is now.


Anyway if chris has been truthful, it just means he doesn't spend that much time on the game. The problem then would be GGG designers. As a player I'd ask them to spend a few months playing and not designing, there's far more to learn playing than designing with the same mindset. I am ok skipping a league, I've skipped this one anyway with their funny league vision.

yes my main concern was the difficulty increase would mostly just increase the amount of time required to play the game, when this game is already designed to take a lot of time to play. that's not a bad thing but it's not like the game didn't already have a million goals to go for already

Act 1 does in fact feel more like 2013 Path of Exile, but it's a little strange how it's just Act 1 for now. I wonder if GGG should have worded it differently than "we're jacking up the difficulty guys lol"

Also, imagine watching a movie where many different things going at once, but its all RNG. Wouldn't you find that boring to watch? Has lotsa bad guys that just like to kill exiles........... The protagonist would now and then randomly get a weapon/armor upgrade...

I could barley get through act 1 without falling asleep.
yes its more difficult and I died multiple times but my god has the gear drops been mostly all white and blue with the league mechanic blowing up the ruins and multiple chests...

Combined with the massive nerfs to everything, probably going to skip this league again. I've never skipped a league day 1 but hey, first time for everything.

Skip and wait for D2 remaster.....this league is too much life wasting!
