new enchant craft...

it would be really nice to have a way to remove the harvest crafted enchant on an item instead of having to keep a useless enchant so the quality can go back to default.
poe is going down fast. Diablo 4 and Baldur's Gate 3 have no performance issues. play them instead

Agree. I don't think I've personally "bricked" any items this way, but the fact you can essentially brick your items this way seems counter-intuitive.

You can sort of "unbrick" your item by using a Tempering Orb or Tailoring Orb, but that is extremely expensive (uncommon drop from specific league mechanic) and has the potential to temporarily brick your item even worse if you don't have a massive bankroll.

i did when a player had recommended i put the quality to elemental damage on a perfectly rolled axe only to find that i had 5k less dps than the same perfectly rolled axe with just 30% quality. really sucks when that happens and cannot be undone

If it's a one-handed axe (or otherwise doesn't matter whether it's 6L or not), and if you're willing to drop a ton of currency on it, you can buy Tempering Orbs to fix it:
https://www.pathofexile.com/trade/exchange/Ultimatum/7j8jMy6S5

Tempering Orbs replace a Harvest enchantment with a Heist enchantment. The main "drawback" of Tempering Orbs is that a lot of them will screw with your sockets:

https://pathofexile.fandom.com/wiki/Tempering_Orb
"
Chaos Modifiers have 10% increased Effect
All Sockets are Blue

"
Caster Damage Modifiers have 15% increased Effect
-3 to maximum Sockets

However, all the Heist enchantments will restore quality's bonus to weapon physical damage, and some will even make your weapon even more beefy:
"
Physical Modifiers have 8% increased Effect

Do be warned there are other temporary "brick" outcomes like I mentioned, even other than sockets:
"
Physical Modifiers have 15% increased Effect
200% increased Attribute Requirements

that just replaces one enchant with the other. i'd like to have a way to just remove the enchant completely.

example of how to do it is to run the lab and it will be an extra option in the divine font to remove 1 enchant per run and only in the eternal lab with a drop rate of 10-25%
