"The Saviour" unique sword support gems not working properly
The Saviour unique sword when socketed with:
Increased Duration support Swift Affliction support Efficiency support Less Duration support Lifetap support Reflection skill does receive bonuses for duration of the skill or aliments from support gems but no bonuses regarding damage or damage over time of the skill I remember in metamorph league that those support gems increased damage of aliments caused by reflections. I could not find any patch note or bugfix regarding this change so i post it as bug. Last bumped on Jun 18, 2021, 10:30:48 PM

Supports modifying the damage of the Reflection skill have never done anything, because the Reflection skill never deals damage - it just summons a Mirage Saviour which uses a different skill. Those supports need to be on the skill that you triggered Reflection with, since that's the skill the Mirage Saviour uses.

how it worked in metamorph:
i had viper strike in my 6link chest it dealt A dmg i had 3 supports in the saviour unique sword less duration swift affliction and efficiency my basic attack was B reflection skill in character tab displayed B - 50 % how ever if socketed with those support gems it displayed (B-50%)x (dmg increase from support gems) so i assumed and tested it in the game that my dmg from viper strike A was also increased by support gems socketed in the sword after the 50% reduction resulting in (A-50%)x ( support gems from the saviour ) and in the effect each reflection was doing more dmg individually than i was doing my self ( each support gem had some increased dmg and more resulting in huge dmg increase more than +130% ) i didnt record it but i swear it worked like that there must be some videos on youtube proving that it worked back in metamorph league i remember my discussion with guild members and i remember them also proving that less duration support gem dmg multiplier had effect on dmg of reflections with other skills than viper strike the mechanics of the sword changed for 100% i did not see any indication of it Mark from ggg: the saviour sword provide skill reflection and support gems socketed in the sword modify the skill they need DURATION tag to work or say: "supports any skill" to be able to affect the reflection skill they currently modify only the duration of the clones summoned by skill but not their damage UNLIKE how it worked in metamorph league |

" A skill that does no damage on its own, modified by Less Duration, still does no damage. Stop making claims you can't provide actual evidence for. It did not work that way in metamorph league and has never done so. As one of the people who made the skill, I can assure you you are incorrect. The interactions you are suggesting fundamentally do not make sense with how skills work in PoE - I don't think we could make it work that way if we tried.
The skill was tested thoroughly and the behaviour you are suggesting would definitely have been found and raised as a massive bug, because for that to happen, the skill system would need to be fundamentally broken. I tested it myself at the time and it definitely worked correctly back then, just like it does now. Reviewing the code history also shows no functional changes to the skill code, other than the restriction that was added to prevent the Mirage Saviours being able to have extra strike targets and a fix for an instance crash in certain cases of destroying them. Rules should be consistent. They don't have to be nice, nor do the devs have to be nice. Seriously, bravo. Full disclosure: I am not playing this league: 45+ hours at work and master's program. I spend money when I enjoy the league. Delirium I hit 95 and gave not a damn thing because I hated logging in. Betrayal was buggy but I enjoyed it and hit my only 100, so I spent a lot. Decide what you want the game to be, and own it. You won't please everyone. |
