Spectral Wolf Clarification

As asked at least in https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/2894057 and in https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/1889036, could we get some clarification about Spectral Wolfs please ?

PoB detects them fine for me?

Just need to be looking at the Summon Spectral Wolf main skill & then see how the dps changes (spoiler: not very much).

They're minions so they're affected by anything that affects minion damage, with the bonus that they also benefit from claw specific crit/critmulti. No other global stats or claw stats - cos they're minions, not you, and the skill specifically mentions only crit & crit multi.

Worth mentioning that I'm using the community fork (https://pathofbuilding.community), not the main PoB.. that may be an issue

And for the calcs tab you need to specifically turn on "Show Minion Stats" as I've highlighted in the second image.

Are the wolves good for anything besides being a meatshield? Can they deal decent damage if you have good +minion support?

Based on Lahk's PoB they will never be viable DPS except for how they buff your DPS. No amount of supporting 1000 DPS a going to make them good.

And that was actually with a ruthless support in the item to check it was working. Their base is lower.

I was wondering if I could use them at some point, but the best idea I could manage was trying for some sort of every-minion-variety-possible minion instability thing... but their life pool isn't great either & with the amount you'd want to invest into crit & attack speed to keep up a constant stream it'd be nothing but a meme.

Maybe someone else can find a way to make them work, but atm I agree.. base damage is just too low to be anything but a novelty or, possibly, a debuff applicator.

PoB does not use the correct attributes for the Spectral Wolf Companion, it never updated the monster after Harvest, and did not update after the level change in Ultimatum.
A level 25 summoned wolf has approximately 4000 base dps and 8% critical strike chance on its attacks

Crystal clear for crits.

If I take a look at the current ingame tooltip, wolfs still have a base life of 6367 (did not change since harvest if I have a good memory, and I divined Law of the Wilds "just in case").
The same value is indicated in PoB.



But https://poedb.tw/us/Spectral_Wolf_Companion#Lvl78 indicates a base life of 19206 for level 78 wolfs. Can the tooltip be wrong? If the tooltip is right, are you sure about :
