Vacuum Loot or Pulse Stack
Please implement some sort of vacuum loot for certain items, like currency, fragments, etc. If this option breaks design philosophies of desiring that "click to pickup" for whatever reason, an alternative that might be acceptable would be to pull loot to your feet and stack similar items where possible.
For example, you finish a breach and the screen is filled with random currencies and whatnot. You click the "Pulse Stack" button, which brings nearby currency, fragments, shards, etc. to your feet and stacks them into single piles: 7 alterations - 1 click 16 Xoph fragments - 1 click 4 alchmey orbs - 1 click 2 chaos orbs - 1 click The result of that goes from 30 clicks --> 4 clicks. Also you don't have to run around and fight with awkward terrain to do the picking up. That part is just as important. It would honestly feel so much better. Please consider something like this. Though TBH vacuum loot is likely the best approach to this problem. Last bumped on Jun 19, 2021, 12:15:57 PM

Please do not implement any sort of vacuum loot.
I am fine with increasing the pickup range so that the character does not need to constantly move about when clicking on items that are displayed right next to each other, which makes clicking the next item more difficult. Also this would solve a lot of "item drop stuck behind obstacle" situations. I am also fine with stacking some currency from loot explosions or chests. If an enemy drops two of the same currency, stack them. If two enemies drop one of the same currency each, do not. Other than that, leave it as it is. Picking up items is part of the game, not picking up items is also part of the game. Not everything has to be worth the time to pick it up even if there is enough of it to be worth picking up if it was possible in one click instead of dozens. |

the best approach is to leave currency fragments on the ground if you made the decision that they're not worth it.
if you're in dire need of currency and failed on the challenge to not pickup stuff, you have to invest the time to click on the loot. if implemented for whatever reason (like the less intelligent idea to implement controller support for pc), item hoover functionality must result in a nerf to currency drops because there is no choice anymore to pick it up or not. age and treachery will triumph over youth and skill!

While i don't mind picking minor pixel currencies and shit in that ethical virgin vegan ssf world of mine, i honestly don't mind if the damn things on the ground were auto-stacking somehow, just for the well-being of my right hand, hehe. </wishful_thinking> "Path of Exile's engine is currently modern, lean and fast." - Chris Wilson, September 19th, 2019

It's becoming increasingly common for games to implement auto-pickup or convenient ways to pickup. I recently played lost ark and you can press a keyboard key to pickup nearby items (1 at a time but it's quick). That's another solid option.
Those against any change in this area need to understand that as you get older your hand dexterity becomes worse and in some cases actually causes pain. Asking players to literally endure pain for the sake of some romanticized notion of how an ARPG should feel is ignorant. "Don't pick it up then" is not a solution either, it's just another [Removed by Support] response [Removed by Support] that who doesn't understand the human condition... yet. I fucking love this game. Been playing since Kripparian streamed it back in beta when D3 flopped. It wasn't always as bad as it is now. Lootsplosions have increased at a steady rate like inflation, but nothing has been done to manage that growth. Please help :( Last edited by Lisa_GGG#0000 on Jun 19, 2021, 9:47:09 PM
