CoC/CwC and Fortify mods are mutually exclusive

For a shaper+elder influence 2H weapon, craftofexile emulator shows they are mutually exclusive. Search in POE trade and there are no weapons with those two mods on sale. They are made mutually exclusive to prevent a 8 link weapon?

Yeah all the elder/shaper support gem affixes are mutually exclusive. It includes inspiration and endurance charge on melee stun, which you didn't mention.
Might I suggest using a staff and a cluster jewel with the Overlord notable? That gets you fortify and CoC/CwC. In fact I'm using that on a character this league. (also, you can still get an 8 link with the corruption prefix that gives lifetap. Understandably annoying to try for, though. EDIT: Wait, nevermind. " So I guess it applies for all 2H weapons. Initially thought I could get fortify+CoC using awakener orb, which does not guarantee other rolls to be decent. I guess even this is not allow and consider too easy and deterministic by GGG standard. So perhaps "Socketed skill deals more attack damage"+fortify will be a pseudo 8-link. Internally I believe it is, since it has a support gem icon next to the skill.
