Blast Radius and Auras
|
At one point, one of the key things someone said to look for as to whether or not Auras are affected is the lack of "Skills" in the description.
Things like "7% Reduced Mana Cost of Skills" does not affect Auras, they stated. Blast Radius - 8% increased Radius of Area Skills. Does this mean because it affects Skills, with "Area" only being a subtype/adjective, that it does not affect Auras? And how are Auras, which come from skill gems, not skills? :O (:

Auras indeed benefit from area of effect. Auras are skills. They do not cost mana, they reserve mana; something that reduces mana cost does not reduce it, only something that reduces mana reserved.

" I see, thank you. (:

" Auras cually cost mana, you can check it by repeatadly toggling aura on and off. But it costs same mana as it reserves so reducing mana cost is kinda pointless. |

" They don't cost mana, they reserve it. What you are saying is that when the mana is urneserved, it isn't automatically filled up. This makes sense. The 200 mana that aws reserved was NOT available before, it still isn't available after removing the aura, but it starts to fill up at hyour mana regen rate. The opposite would be the idea that with a low life build, i could run my health with 68% reserved, and the secnod I felt like I was to die, cast the aura, and instantly have 68% more life |

Try cast non blood magic aura with not full mana globe, you'll see what I'm talking about. It is not about the fact you can't gain it back after switching it off.

Yep. The Mana pool plummets before the gray Reservation overlay is applied, because you have to pay the Reservation amount upfront, similar to a Cost.
A somewhat easy way to see this is getting interrupted while casting an Aura. Last edited by Vipermagi#0984 on Apr 8, 2013, 11:52:32 AM
