Emperor's Vigilance and Corrupted Soul

Just wondering if anyone knows the interaction between Emperor's Vigilance and Corrupted soul? Which one is actually used when taken blocked damage?

The shield's
Damage from Blocked Hits cannot bypass energy shield
Damage from Unblocked Hits always bypass energy shield

and

Corrupted Soul's
50% of Non-Chaos Damage taken bypasses Energy Shield.


So if I take blocked damage will the damage bypass or not bypass energy shield?
Also this implies that any unblocked hits will be taken 100% from life pool right? (Corrupted soul doesn't have an interaction with that one?)
