fire builds end game viable?

As title says, are they? I want to make a fire build but man I rarely ever see them. Fireball is prob my fav looking skill and I want to make a build around it, I don't want to just run a freezing pulse build because I know it works, FP is the most boringest spell in the game to me, just right click from lvl2-80. So my question stands, are fire builds like tom Jones and are they burning down the house?

Fire ball is very viable. Fireball+crit=GG

They can be viable but not nearly as effective. The utility of shock stacks and freeze can not be stressed enough. Also late game nearly all of the more annoying mobs are fire resistant. Viable builds are also more limited with fire, like personally i'd suggest stacking hp/armor molten shell avoiding CI builds with fire. Other than that Righteous fire seems to be your best bet for fire dmg.

Well from the outside looking in, for caster builds it looks like freezing pulse or jack shit, end game sounds like - arc sucks, spark only really good if you dual totem, abs fireball a bit iffy. Out of all the magic elementals in games for me its always been, fire -> lightning -> ice. I'm almost tempted to go summoner because I don't want to go ice, and hell I'm not even that fond of summons!

Answer is no. Fire spells are completely trash. Go for it if you want to do something different though.
Fighting the war against the AltF4Core! Hardcore is for whimps.

was thinking along the lines of having:
fire ball with LMP + others firetraps molten shell skellies to distract maybe a flame totem? i have a low ilvl searing touch so i might try and use that, but yeah i wont be able to 5 socket it or anything like that. |
