Petrified Blood testing, regen degen math, methods to use, things you dont need try
| Hey everbody, i was testing around with petrified blood the last week. Playing on a Toaster, so the dmg taken delayed really helps alot to "leech through some lag" - so i tried build around it. So i got this beauty: Anomalous Petrified Blood in a Crest of Desire, currently 25/70. "When taken damage from hits, 57% of life loss below half life is prevented, then 286% of lifeloss Prevented this way is lost over 4seconds". I assmue 1% per 4gemlevel and 1% per 5Quality, if my calculating are correct - a 21/23 gem in a +7/+50 crest would cap out at 60% as 320% taken. I will use this capped numbers in further calculation - 40% hitdmg taken, 60% as 320% dot over 4seconds. Easily said, the dot triples "half" of the damage taken. Said with numbers its 40% hit damage and 3*60% over 4second, whats 220% (40+3*60%) dmg taken?. So it needs some heavy regen for the degen and dmg mitigation. --- How petrified blood works The dot from petrified blood can be bigger as the Lifepool, the life can turn complete black. Than only if lifegain is smaller as lifeloss, real HP goes down. This is important, correct me if i am wrong, but i think diffrent methods of lifegain apply to diffrent "starting points on the lifepool". For example when the HP is completly black - hitting a Flask that recovers life seems to have not much effect on the dot - it applys to the top end of the lifepool, only healing "real hp loss" - kinda overhealing into nothing as long the dot dont damage. The same goes for Leech, it recovers lifeloss - unless its overleech, what would recover instantly when the life is loss. I imagine it as a "shield" when 10 instances of overleech are stacked up. The flipside is regeneration - correct me if i am wrong - but i assmue that applys to the lower end of the lifepool, only healing real HP loss after the degen is healed clear. i tried visualize this with paint https://imgur.com/a/gXSZUfe Methods to counter the degen Leech Leech seems to be the best option. The maxmimum total leechcap at 60% of maxHP on tree is easy to get - maybe i am wrong, but seems nice to heal 60% of max when take 60% as triple dot. I tested it, it works well - but requires maximum leech per second on top of maximum total leech. The normal leechspeed isnt enough, 12% over 2seconds? Correct me if i am wrong. But it felt good around 1000% or 2000% leech per second - 0,4 or 0,2 seconds to reach cap in PoB. Regeneration If i am not wrong that regenerations apply to the lower end of the lifepool, whats a less save option - and its difficult to reach a 60% hp per second. I dont think this is a viable option. But i dont tested it. Recovery/Flasks Theres the "instant recovery on lowlife" flasks mod, what is intressting. Flasks cannot counter heal the degen but instantly heal it when it was taken. 4Lifeflaskfinder could be a thing. But eye-attention at the HPpool for lifeloss all the time seems a bit odd compared to the comfort of overleech. Damage mitigation Reducing the taken damage seems to be the way on top of LifeGain. I tested around 15k armor (not best gear and setup) what helped alot to reduce the dot damage. Taking less dmg means reducing the dmg multiplied by the dot. I assmue, didnt tested, evasion wouldnt work - the one unreduced hit stacks a gives a big dot and just kills on the next hit taken. Agnostic/Manashield The "problem" here is that petrified sets us on always lowlife status, Agnostic constantly drains 20% mana into Life. I tested with Manaleech and Manareg, reaching around a ~500 mana per sec and 1500max. Could have possiblities at real huge manapool, where 20% Mana is higher as 20% HP - but the investment of passivepoints for Life and Mana seems high. --- If i am wrong on any mechanic, please correct me - this regen/degen math is complicated and am trying to fiddle this out. I am more the type of testing ingame how it feels, i often miss something.
