white squares/textures appearing for a split second when casting flamedash ..

so obviously there is a well known problem with the current implementation of the asset/texture streaming system and many users are reporting this,

for me the worst issue besides blurry inventory on new zone/loading in to town, is that when I cast flamedash, which obviously is a LOT of the time of my gameplay since its my movement skill, white squares will appear for a split second in random places of the screen until the texture has loaded,

specs : i7-9700k CPU, RTX 2060, 2x8gb 3600mhz RAM, SSD disk and windows 10,

also seems to happen on both dx11 and vulkan.

thanks, /Alex

edit: update, seems to not happen at all in some areas like for example azurite mine when delving, there I can flame dash without any textureless white squares appearing, but in maps it will happen like 8 of 10 flamedashes... kills all immersion :S

have here 3 other people who confirm same issue on reddit:

IMPORTANT UPDATE!:

I found something that seems to have completely fixed the problem, and also made gameplay 100x smoother for me in terms of stutters, most importantly the texture glitches are fixed now!

there is a thread on the PoE reddit right now with a commandline option thing here:

https://dd.reddit.com/r/pathofexile/comments/mwesn4/if_you_dont_mind_slightly_longer_load_times_start/

basically you add "--waitforpreload" to the PoE shortcut like this:

after I did this and tested the same map a couple of times with and without the commandline option, I can 100% confirm this has not only fixed the texture issue for me, but also massively improved stuttering and smoothness of gameplay, it feels basically better than it ever has before for me now!

BUT I had to change to directx11, on vulkan the texture issues were still present, even with or without the --waitforpreload commandline option, just so you know!

so directx11 + --waitforpreload commandline option = no texture glitches and super smooth gameplay for me now!

lets just hope a future update or patch from GGG does not mess this up, although they should fix so that users dont need commandline options for a good gameplay experience!

peace!
