Scales of Justice (Wording)
Sorry if I'm off base here. I'm definitely not oldest of the game's players so my info could be a little off, but...
Is the wording on Scales of Justice: "Unaffected by Ignite or Shock if Maximum Life and Maximum Mana are within 500" unique to this item? Specifically the word "within," as I don't recall it on any other items that come to mind. The reason I ask is because I feel it should be changed to "... if the difference between Maximum Life and Maximum Mana is less than 500." which probably more accurately represents how it's coded anyway, but also is more clear and doesn't use such vague terminology. Is it just me or...? Last edited by Cabledragon#2599 on Apr 10, 2021, 12:32:55 AM Last bumped on Apr 9, 2021, 3:35:18 PM

A help could come from PoeDB when the new Content is released, it can be datamined and we will see what name the developers gave to that bonus.
Personally (and I am not a native speaker) I read it as "Unaffected by Ignite or Shock if both Maximum Life and Maximum Mana are under 500". Which makes pretty much no sense given the natural bonus to life a character gets by merely levelling (which can be circumvented by Chaos Inoculation, but I don't know how it interacts with the "Chaos resistance is Zero") and, well, 500 mana is really, really low. Your interpretation seems more sound than mine, admittedly. |

They always look for the shortest possible way to say something and stick to it. "within" is perfect for that. Might be a word that is falling out of use, but it shouldn't be. I guess they could add "of each other", but I don't think they have to.
