BSOD, memory management code after upgrading ram
|
I just recently upgraded my ram from 16gb to 32 gb. The computer recognized it as being 32gb and everything seemed great. I started playing PoE and it worked for about 20 minutes and then it closed out and I got the BSOD for memory management. I ran a Windows memory diagnostic scan and it said everything was good. Now, when I try to play the game it will either close out during the grinding gears intro or within 5 minutes of gameplay. Same error. I haven't tried playing any other games but everything else on the computer works fine. Any suggestions?

" Since it happend after you change the ram, it must have something to do with that. Maybe you are running the wrong ram settings / maybe your motherboard bios needs to be upgraded and so on..... |
|
" That's my thought too. However, everything else is running fine. I played Destiny 2 after changing out the RAM and had no problems. I've been playing YouTube videos, working on Excel spreadsheets, and browsing the internet without issue. I made sure to buy the exact RAM for my computer too. Today I was able to play PoE for about 15 minutes before it crashed and now I can't even get past the loading screen. I'm really at a loss. |

" I haven't been getting the BSOD today when I was going to try your suggestion. As of now, the game just crashes and closes out with no error message. When I googled the BSOD error message I got the other day, it provided several possibilities, but none made sense because everything else on my computer runs fine. It's just PoE that doesn't want to cooperate. |

The seller of the RAM asked me to clean the contacts with an eraser. I did so and it had no effect. Any other suggestions?

" you are sure that your motherboard bios is fully updated and that you are running with correct RAM settings ? |
|
" Found out it was a bad stick of RAM. I pulled one out at a time and when I had one in it would crash. Pulled it out and stuck the other one in and it would work fine. Getting replacement RAM. Thanks for the help. |

" cool, good to hear that you got it to work. Great job. :) |
