A suggestion to make uber lab trials less obnoxious (esp. in SSF)

First, a little background. I've reached AL5 and tier 16 maps in SSF and yet can't find one uber lab trial even after 100+ hours. Used up all my zana missions, a ridiculous number of silver coins etc to get the trial I want but no luck so far.

I think that even trade league could benefit a lot from simplifying finding uber trials so that people don't need to go to global 820 to find them. The ascendancy expansion was 4 yrs ago and its time to cut down on hunting down random trials in maps BS. I assure you that for 99% of players uber lab is a tedious chore that they do once per character to get the points. I see no point at all to make finding the trials this complicated.

So here's 3 suggestions to make it a little less obnoxious to complete them:

1. Make the 'dream trial' prophecy not get expended unless you interact with the trial by entering the zone (similar to how fated unique prophecies work). This way, you can use the prophecy when you find the trial you want and not waste a gazillion silver coins.
2. Give us a harvest map craft to add trial of ascendancy to a map from our inventory, favoring trials that have not been completed. (Similar to the harvest option to trade maps, favoring incomplete maps)
3. Just make the random map trials weighted to favor unfinished ones. This is the simplest solution, but I doubt this will be implemented due to the rng-based design of PoE.

For the love of god, completing your ascendancy tree shouldn't be such a tedious experience! This is one area of the game still missing a lot of QoL.

Suggestion: When a trial is spawned at map generation, and it's one you already have, then its type is rerolled once for an extra chance at a trial you do not yet have.
Done, easy, and still enough RMG.

Thats what people has been saying. Pioritise Trials that has not been done. Shocking such a simple solution to a problem GGG refuse to address.

Another more complicated (not by much) is having the trials unlocked as part of mapping, like the conquerers or maven, after complete certain number of maps in a region. Problem Solved.

Yeah this would work too.
At this point, since I used up all my zana missions/prophecies I decided to speedrun about 100 white t1-3 maps. Got about 10-20 trials and every single one was from what I have already completed.

Just feels rly bad at this point, I got 2xcortex & &3/4 distant memories from Zana by now, and yet can't run a frigging uber lab trial that takes 5 mins to finish on trade league.

Wanted to give an update, I was finally able to find the last trial after speedrunning about 200 white maps and wasting an entire day on this.

Overall it was a harrowing experience, used up all my Zana missions/silver coins for this and none of that helped, in the end it was just a random trial spawn in t1 map. Hope they add other ways to finish trials in future leagues, it seems there's been no QoL improvement in this area since it was introduced.



The problem here is that when the fourth lab was released these last two points were a bonus to most builds. Now with all the power creep the fourth lab is a huge requirement to almost all builds yet the gate is still treating it as a bonus prize for your builds. GGG really should remedy this.

This league I was lvl 90 when I found the last portal.

They made a big fuss about reworking all the ascendancies, but won't give you proper access to them? I really like this game, but this mechanic is simply wrong.

You shouldn't even get a portal you already did. 6 portals should mean that you are ready to go to the final lab (which is allready the 4th time you go there for the same thing).

They could even make it that portal 1 would be in a T1 or higher map, portal 2 in a T2 or higher, and so on.

You'd get access to the lab as from yellow tier maps that way, which is a pretty ok moment to get your ascendancy complete I' say.

Running T16 maps while not even having gotten acces to you build's full potential (ascendancy wise) is simply ridiculous.
