Zones Spawning With Only 1 Ritual And Too Many Deferred Items In Window

Okay, enough with this, alright? It's already frustrating constantly getting 2 ritual zones over and over again and losing deferred items / paying twice as much for them from items increasing in cost all the time.

But when the design is so horrid that it can't even spawn two of them, but still spawns them regardless?

Spoiler

Thanks for your report, there are 2 Ritual encounters spawning in the area.

One of the Ritual Encounters is spawning in a different part of the area that you can't access. You will have to enter the area from a different entrance because the way forwards (or backwards in your case) is only available after killing the boss.

I hope this helps.

No, that doesn't help at all.

I entered this zone right after the Doedre fight, there was nothing I missed, it's a completely separate zone from the previous one. This makes the problem of backtracking ( which has never been possible from this waypoint ) irrelevant by the fact a fresh instance will make little to no difference in whether I could have gotten the other ritual or not, because this is only accessible after the boss fight, not beforehand; and again, no door ever shows up that lets you go back.

What other entrance can you access this zone? There are only 4 points, one of which closes when you first enter the zone from the boss fight. There's the waypoint, the quay, and the grand promenade.

The small connecting area that you are in, is in the same instance as the boss fight, and the area leading up to the boss fight.

Story progression in Act 8 is that you travel past the Sarn Ramparts to arrive in Sarn. From there you travel through the Toxic Conduits to Doedres Cesspool, which is where the bossfight and waypoint are.

As the minimap in this screenshot shows, the waypoint is in the same instance as the boss fight and the area leading to the boss fight.

This is in a similar way to how The Sceptre of God in Act 3 is 6 floors and a boss fight, spread across 2 zones.

Except in my case they were not in the same zone.

The boss fight is connected to the zone leading up to it, while this one is different. There may not be a large loading screen separating them, but they are separate.

I did the 3 rituals before the boss, and there were no rituals in the boss area, so it would be impossible to also have 1 remaining in the area in the screenshot when it started empty, and the one I did do is the one I'm standing next to in the screen shot.

I'm not missing anything, or new to the game. Which is why this is a bug / bad design. The only thing I can think of that would account for this was It sent me to an entirely new instance of the zone after exiting the boss area.

Regardless of circumstance of how I got there and to that point, it's horrible game design to have rituals spawn in that waypoint area where it can destroy a player's progress with tribute items, resulting in increased costs / lost deferred items because it's impossible to finish the other ones realistically.

Something that might help you in the future is the fact that rituals will not advance any state like regaining costs on deferrals if you never touch an ritual altar in an area.

This is highly useful for corner cases like this one where backward progress happens to be impossible, or when quickly running maps or content in the future and you don't consider any rituals possible or worthwhile to run.

It is always safe for your deferred items to completely ignore all altars in a zone.

I've heard this from the Q&A videos ..but from my own experience I don't believe this is actually true, or there's something wrong with the deferral system so that there are cases where it still rolls them back. I say this because I come across items frequently that have red borders on them after I skip through a few zones in quick succession, and I'm talking about items which I've just deferred for the first time too, so there should be no mistaking them for a similar one ( like currency ).

It's happen so many times that unless I outright don't see a ritual pop up in my minimap ...I just run it to make sure no shenanigans happen. It's really taxing on my enjoyment of the game, and why running into constant 2 ritual zones make me extremely angry.

It's like the bs during delirium league where you skip through the whole map then backtrack for loot ...except I'm not picking up loot ..I'm doing rituals that happen to be in greater number than 2. That's not an enjoyable engagement of content in the least, and that's my only other recourse other than to just do them as I see them.
