Is this the biggest slam in the game? Maybe it should be just a little bit smaller. I mean it practically hits the entire screen.

Don't bother with Catarina.
She resets your whole setup and the fight is just no fun. I was once swarmed by her weird little skeletons, with really nowhere to go. They deleted me through more more than 7k life, full resis, good block and eva. Might as well have rolled a dice "die/don't die". Nothing whatsoever to do differently... May your maps be bountiful, exile

I always tell everyone that she is harder than Shaper (but that was before Maven came into the fights).
