The Feared: Why Uber Elder?

So many people talk about The Feared, I'm going for it too, but why people choose Uber Elder instead of normal Elder?

The invite says "Absence of Value and Meaning", so I did normal Elder and it counted.

So why have Uber Elder (Elder + two Shaper) instead of just one Elder and one Shaper?

Also, is there a big difference in Maven drops between normal and rare version of the invitation?

there is no Uber elder in the maven fight. The 2 shapers is normal, its just his last phase clone. Maven can increase that clone by +1 so you better kill him off quickly.

I honestly think it's some sort of oversight. You can actually get Elder and Shaper for the invitation by doing their encounters and then do Uber Elder on top with Maven witness just for fun. I am not sure if doing Uber Elder counts towards both but probably not. I don't think it makes any difference loot wise.

As for the loot difference between rare and white, i think the minimum amount of splinters you can get from uncharted realms is 4 and even with high quant rare invitations, you can still get unlucky so it's no guarantee to get more.

From normal invitations (10 boss fights) you can get 1-2 splinters. I wonder if it's tied to IIQ/IIR or pure RNG.

My main problem is wasting a Cortex. 2-3 ex is a lot... Might be cheaper if I just buy services and try later in league when I finish my gear.

But glad to see it's not required or needed Uber Elder for this invitation. I'm not getting many fragments running atolls...

It's probably a combination of both. High IIQ/IIR give you a better chance on getting more splinters, but it's not a guarantee. UR invitations range from 4-6 splinters to my knowledge. I wouldn't risk 2 EX just for a chance of getting 2 extra splinters.
