Maven Witness and stupidity of its design...
Wasteland T14 rolled magic :
After 26 minutes of fight and 5 times putting the boss at 25% life, Maven healed him to full life... I have 400K DPS and i don't understand why i can't kill that particular boss because all fights before in other maps never became that problematic... I wasted a map and my time for nothing but anger !! Path of Exile is a Casino for gambling addicts. Gambling is not fun nor a game mechanic... Last bumped on Feb 18, 2021, 5:14:19 AM

You can turn off Maven before opening a map, or just do lower tiers, because it seems your dps is way too low.

Did you read or your answer is random ?
I've done other fights without any problem and have put that specific boss at 25% life 5 times... Path of Exile is a Casino for gambling addicts.

Doesn't matter it's just a layer of difficulty make a better char you can't just have things handed to you and all you literally had to do was press frost bomb to kill it's healing
So what you killed it ''normally'' it's another layer of difficulty added learn how to pass that layer like every other person before you. Dys an sohm Rohs an kyn Sahl djahs afah Mah morn narr Last edited by Coconutdoggy#1805 on Feb 17, 2021, 3:44:47 PM

The reason you're having trouble here with the Wasteland boss is he creates Consecrated Ground which heals him over time while he's on it. Combined with things like the Maven healing him, shielding him, and slowing you this makes your effective DPS too low to overcome his buffed defenses. The Park map boss has a similar kit.
Either bring Frost Bomb to reduce the regen, bump up your DPS to kill faster, or turn off the Maven so you don't have to deal with all her extra BS on that map. I ran into a similar problem early league where I couldn't die but I also couldn't kill this guy so we were stuck in the dumbest stalemate. |

Yeah bro listen to what these guys are telling you. Your DPS is way too low. Get a frost bomb. Find a way to adapt.
Try not to get angry at the game. The devs designed everything so it would kill you. When you realize this and try to outsmart the devs is when your anger will turn to laughter. Remember, just a game bro. | |
Some bosses were made not to be witnessed... At least for your build.
Smart witness management is also a new thing players will need to learn in time. For example: I have a max block build, so I never witness bosses that have degens or damage over time. I used to feel this way. Its unfair for the Minotaur to go burrow and get healed. Nowadays I just kill him before he does this, easy

Thanks to those that made me remember of the sacred ground used by that boss.
This explains why he is getting an insance regen with Maven... Path of Exile is a Casino for gambling addicts.

I had the same issue with Park map boss.
I had to go lookup what ability was healing him because combined with Maven healing him and his beams & explosions denying me time to dps him, I just could not take him down. However, once I realised it was desacrated ground, all I had to do was kite him out of it and then nuke him. It actually became an interesting figth. I feel that the Maven makes some fights really hard, but at the same time I find that I actually learned a lot about the mechanics the bosses use because of this. Before the Maven expansion, bosses were just like regular mobs to me, just with more HP: hit untill they die. Nowaways I am actually aware of their skill set and I am actively looking for counterplay (or in some case avoiding them). All in all, since you can stop the Maven from witnessing, it's a really nice new feature in my oppinion. (If I could only stop forgetting to turn it off for harder bosses.) |
