Life Gain and Leech Question + Minions

Tried to do a search and didn't find anything specifically giving an answer.

Just to make sure I understand this correctly...

# Life gained for each Enemy hit by your Attacks

Set # of life gained for each physical hit you land.

# Life gained for each Enemy hit by your Spells

Set # of life gained for each spell hit you land.

#% Physical Attack Damage Leeched as Life

% of actual physical damage you output and land.


Does this apply to minions? If your minions land these hits, the life would be recovered to you or just the minions?

Just the minions (barring any uniques being used that might change this)

So only hits by spells would benefit a caster build.

For minions to leech it has to specify it is minion leech or you need to add leech support gem to a minion. Also attacks can deal any type of hit damage for "# Life gained for each Enemy hit by your Attacks" to work, not only physical

What exactly do you plan on using for minion leech?

It's for a ring. I'm casting Skeletons.
If only hit by your spells would benefit me gaining life, I'd skip the others.
If their hits don't heal me, then I'm gonna pass. Just don't want to pay more for a mod that doesn't work for the build.

No, for minions to leech life to you it has to state that specifically like here

In PoE, you and your minons are VERY different entities.

If it says YOUR spells or attacks, then it has NOTHING to do with your minions.

Yes, minions have the "spell" tag in their gem, but the minions themselves are separate entities.

The only things that effect minions are things that specifically say "minions" or "allies"
(minions count as allies, but NOT party members.)

Minions do not get your on hit effects, nor your on kill effects, with the following exceptions:
1)Minions inherit your drop quality and quantity
2)If you have a Headhunter belt, your minions kills of rare mobs will grant you the buffs.
