Does Solar Guard spectre have Extra Physical as Fire mod?
|
On poedb.tw page for Solar Guards, there is no Extra Physical as Fire mod.
But in Path of Building files, there is. It looks like this in Spectres.lua file: " And PoB calculates their damage as if they gained Extra Physical as Fire mod. This seems illogical, Solar Guards are spellcaster spectres with pure fire spells. Why would they need Extra Physical as Fire mod? Which is right, poedb.tw or PoB community fork? you have to look at the skill used by Solar Guard and mod the monster have.

So I guess if PoB and wiki say that he has that mod, and poedb says he doesn't, that's 2 vs 1.

This question has arisen again for me.
Despite it's being 2 vs 1 (PoB and Wiki vs PoeDB), Poedb.tw is a very authoritative source, and it is used as a reference by almost all streamers. So I just can't ignore it. PoeDB doesn't say anything about phys to fire conversion, and spectre.lua also doesn't have this mod. How come that PoB and PoeDB have different data? Do they use different data mining techniques, and one is just better than the other and gets more info? |

" But if you open monster's page on poedb, it has a file "spectre.lua", which is a raw, unanalized data on this monster. Right? And this file contains: " which means that monster has no mods. |

"They don't have different data. What you were originally seeing in the PoB code isn't "converted to" it's "extra damage". poedb does state that Solar Guards have that as well. Something to keep in mind is that monster skills and similar player skills often don't function exactly the same. Fireball that players get from the skill gem is purely fire damage. But Fireball from Solar Guards is most likely phys based with full fire conversion that isn't exposed to the client built in to the skill, yet the extra damage as fire built in to the mob is exposed. I have a pretty good sense of humor. I'm not German.

" Yes, thanks for pointing that out, I misread that at the time I created the topic. I changed the wording in the topic name and the first post now. But anyway, this doesn't change my question at all - why pob and poedb have different data on that matter. " Well, lets compare the spectre.lua of this monster in pob and poedb. PoeDB: " Path of Building: " Looks like very different to me. |

It's mostly the same, but they both definitely handle some things differently.
poedb simply presents the information mined from the client, and it doesn't really do anything else besides that. The extra fire damage should be rolled in to the skill damage presented, because poedb doesn't need to make any further calculations. It shows you the stats and it's done. PoB does need to make calculations, which are affected by anything else relevant to a skill that you add to your build there. And since you're dealing with a spectre rather than a monster, having a formula for calculating the extra fire damage is necessary in PoB. It wouldn't be able to scale damage properly without that (which, again, is something that poedb doesn't need to do). Have you tried plugging in a Solar Guard into PoB without any relevant passives, supports, or items that would affect it? If it spits out the same base damage as what poedb shows, that would indicate that the data is fine on both ends. I have a pretty good sense of humor. I'm not German.
