Cannot get GSYNC enabled. My experience with dx11 vs vulcan RTX3080

I've been fighting a "smoothness" issue since I started playing the game recently. As I'm progressing into the more mob dense t15+ maps it's been becoming more of a noticeable and frustrating issue when dipping below 100fps(yes, I know, first world problems). Playing at 1440p 144hz, my pc consists of a ryzen 5800x, 32gb ram, pcie 4.0 nvme, and a RTX3080 all watercooled.

I simply cannot get GSYNC to show as enabled no matter what combination of settings I try. DX11 is also essentially useless in any way I've tried it. It's performance vs vulcan just sitting in HO is -20%. ~250fps vs 310fps+ and very noticeably "smoother" by simply changing that setting. Not to mention when you run into a delerium encounter on dx11 I see HUGE stutters where on vulcan it's like nothing even happened, smooth as butter. Vulcan with VSYNC on gives me the best level of preformance and smoothness.

While I can achieve a certain level of smoothness, it doesn't "feel" as "smooth" as what I know GSYNC can offer, there's certainly some stutter or jitter at sub 100 fps. I cannot get the nvidia control panel's on screen indicator for GSYNC to work with Path of Exile. It works fine with other games like rocket league and window/fullscreen mode doesn't make a difference, the indicator will always be there. However in PoE I cannot get it's status to change from "normal" at the top right of the screen. With DX11 it refuses to even show me the "normal" mode message. Here is a list of things I've tried as well as some screenshots that help convey my problem. Please feel free give me suggestion of your solutions.

- Vulcan and DX11 Modes
- VSYNC on and off
- Windowed and Fullscreen
- Capped and Uncapped FPS
- Dynamic culling on and off
- A combination of almost all the settings
- Random squences of turning settings on and off as described in other forum post
- Forcing VSYNC on from nvidia control panel
- "Disable fullscreen optimizations" in the .exe properties
- Changing GSYNC mode between fullscreen only and fullscreen/windowed compatibility
- Changing monitor response time settings(thought maybe it was my monitor)
- Also performance is considerably better with chrome minimized on my other monitor (seperate issue)

***I'm not sure if this is a post patch issue since I didn't start playing until about 10day ago.

EDIT:
************SOLVED********************

After seeing confirmation that people can get GSYNC working I absolutely had to get my issue solved. After messing with every combination of settings I decided to use DDU(Display Driver Uninstaller) and reinstall my drivers. THIS FIXED MY ISSUES.

I now have a GSYNC while playing PoE. I'm not sure why this fixed my issue because I did restore nvidia settings back to default multiple times. Thanks for the help.

How are you getting over 180fps? I have the same processor and air cooled rtx3080 and im getting barely 130fps at everything at the lowest setting.

Lately I've been running vsync since it's been giving me the best performance but it locks my frame rate to the refresh rate of the monitor which is 144. During times of moving thtu the map and lower action, it's pegged at 144fps. In the heist town or combat situations its more around 110-125fps, dipping to 80fps is common and I've seen as low as 60ish. This is all on low settings. Vulcan has been the biggest performance increase for me.

Bump
If you messed with G-Sync settings in NVCP you might wanne check if the gsync setting in nvidiaProfileInspector. Download the programm and select path of exile in the top left dropdown.

Look at the settings marked red ... you can try to set them to either fullscreen or fullscreen & windowed.

Hit Apply Changes in the top right.

I did some more fooling around with the use of that tool and didn't make any progress. Are you using GSYNC with PoE? Can you or anyone else confirm they get a GSYNC indicator with PoE like I do with Rocket League or other games? I simply cannot get the status to change from "Normal" as seen in the screenshots of my original post.

You can turn on the GSYNC indicator in Nvidia control panel > set up GSYNC > display drop down at top. I'll include a picture.

Works fine for me.
Vulkan: https://i.imgur.com/Gq48QOG.png
DX11: https://i.imgur.com/HbLljgY.png

CPU: 4790K
GPU: GTX 1080
Display: LG 24GL600F

Im using GSync + VSync + FPS limit below display’s maximum refresh Capped at 141 fps with MSI Afterburner.

Interesting, and good to know people can get it working. Fooling around AGAIN this morning and still no combination of setting I try will give me GSYNC with PoE. It works completely fine with multiple other games, so I'm unsure what's wrong with PoE. I'm getting extremely frustrated at this point. Are you playing on Steam or standalone? I'm now downloading the standalone client to try that..
