Is Ritual mechanics a waste of time?

I recently started to skip rituals completely because the loot you get doesn't worth the time in most cases.
First, you need to get to the boss to see if there's a ritual there then backtrack to complete the remaining rituals. Ideally, you need to do the rituals that have the largest number of mobs first. But even if you get 10k tribute it doesn't guarantee even decent loot. As I said all this looks like a waste of time to me.
Maybe the solution would be the ability to craft rituals like we craft strongboxes?

Just the last thing I found from a Ritual. I have plenty of epic findings from Rituals that are very rare, including raw exalts, level 4 Enhance/Empower, chase uniques and whatnot.

Maybe if you don't stop running Ritual you find the good shit too

You don't have to backtrack. Simply save some items you want for later. Yesterday I got a ritual with 2 exalts inside. I've posted before the items I've gotten. I mean hell, imagine you get a synthesized shield with 1 frenzy charge - this is 25 exalts. And you say they are not worth it? A joke

It's good if your build is not clear speed oriented. It's bad if your build can zoom through maps.

It's a taste of trading for SSF. You get to pick through items and choose the ones you want. I'm enjoying it. I have a Kaom's Heart on deferral and have gotten two 6L armors off it. To a trader, that's "so what?". To someone who rarely gets a 6L in a league, it's motivating.

Yup, for SSF Ritual is a blessing. Hell, this league I have gotten the most currency, and the rarest shit since I've started playing the game. I love it.

The low level Rituals certainly appear to be a gigantic waste of time. You will never have enough to Defer the most sort after items and the chance of getting things like Exalts in early Rituals is extremely low.

Though I stop skipping them near the end of the campaign as the rewards are usually worth the fluffing about.

And obviously when you get to maps they are always worth doing.

a waste of time? what are you comparing it to?

if you only want to do the absolute best min/max chaos per hour farming strategies, then sure, skip out on ritual. however, ritual, or any other league mechanic, should not be looking to compete with such strategies for chaos per hour.

the game is much more then just chaos/hr currency currency currency. but if thats what you enjoy/strive for then play the game prioritizing that. does that leave out ritual? then thats your choice. so be it.

i love ritual. i dislike not knowing what affects rituals and tribute, however. like i can super juice a map and get 50+ beyond bosses spawned and 4k monsters....yet the tribute will suck because those mobs didn't affect ritual.
or i can run new vastir with 3 legions and i'll get like 15k tribute, because legions apparently do affect rituals while other league mechanics do not...for whatever reason.

its very weird, so i find it hard to min/max rituals. this makes it off-putting to many i think. i find myself wasting vessels just trying to figure out what works to capture 100+ mobs each time.

but run a map with 4x 150+ mob vessels, and holy that shit is nuts. of course it doesn't guarantee good rewards at the end to spend your tribute on, but eh...everything in this game is RNG

I was wondering the same. Namely - would it be more profitable to simply run more maps without doing the Ritual since rituals are taking extra time to do or run maps and do all the rituals.

But for that you need to do some experimenting to get a sample size. For example, run 100 maps without doing rituals and track how much time it took to run them.

Then keep running another portion of maps but this time do rituals - do these maps until you reach the same time mark as it took you to run the first 100 maps. Track your profit with excilence.net in both cases.

But of course that's only for the folks who want to play for max profit/effectiveness. Others will be fine doing rituals even if it's less profitable than just running maps. I'll probably keep running them until I get bored of them, even if they are less profitable in the end.
